The sheep are given eternal life BECAUSE they did good works. Your church doctrine is rubbish.
You'd have Him holding back His grace and mercy except through doing good works, which would void both grace and mercy! You'd have to replace those words with working towards God's righteousness by earning it through our efforts, not as it is written in Romans 1:17.
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

You are saying that those who heard Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount and did not read Pauls save by grace through faith doctrine [in Romans], and who know nothing of the death and resurrection of Christ, neither believe in any such thing, these people are not saved, and therefore cannot see eternal life in the Kingdom of God. According to you Jesus therefore preached in vain.

-Removed-No. Many Christians exclusively use the KJV of 1837 or some other similar translation. I have read more broadly than that... eg The KJV of 1611, which contains 12 additional books and is similar to the Bible of the Apostles. I have looked through many of the old Jewish books.. apocrypha and what they call pseudographia. These books clarify and expand on many of the bible stories and concepts. This naturally gives the reader a clearer picture of what transpired in those days.
