@kellyjay saidI was paraphrasing Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill's ethical principle, commonly referred to as Utilitarianism. It is an example of human morality which does not apply to God, in answer to Dive's question.
That isn’t a goal, He does all things in righteousness happiness isn’t even on the scale, joy maybe! You can be very happy while transgressing against God and man.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidGod, not Kelly's God, starts every life without exception and appoints a time for every life to end. Every single life does end and they end in a variety of ways, Clay Jones said, It is guaranteed that the only thing that is going to stop you from seeing everyone you know and love to die from accidents, illnesses, or natural causes is your death from natural causes, accidents, or diseases. So animals, earthquakes, car accidents, knives, or in your sleep, death is before you. We murder ourselves by the millions in the most horrible ways we can imagine, while we purposely attempt to inflect fear and pain. Humans do this, simply because they want to, or they feel enough hate to justify it, and so on. God gives life, we don't, so if He directs one's life to be ended it is His call, He is God, we are not so the murders we do are not being done because we set up the universe putting the rules in place how long life should last, or how one should behave.
Kelly's God doesn't have to justify Himself. He can send bears to rip children to pieces and He is still righteous and morally sound.
@kellyjay saidAnd this is the type of world that Your God deliberately created ?? Could have created a great world but deliberately chose to make murderers , rapists and the like . Good thing Your God is entirely fictional otherwise we to would have wage war against this evil and vile creature . Is not deliberating creating something which you know will be evil an evil act in itself , not an act of love ? Your God is definitely not a god of love but an evil god of pain and suffering . Yours is clearly a case of the abused defending the abuser .
