Jesus died for your past sins
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; ...[text shortened]... here is a limit how long God will tolerate a life of sin and forgiveness over and over and over.
Romans 5:20
Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
You don't know grace.

Do you really think Paul is suggesting that it is ok to continue to sin because of grace? What utter foolishness.
Let me know if you want me to quote the extensive and detailed discussion Paul had on grace and how it works. It is not a licence to continue in sin.
Originally posted by @uzlessA prophet is someone who speaks for God. There were plenty of prophets in the Old Testament. I think you may be confusing “prophet” with “Messiah.”
Are you saying the jews thought he was a prophet but not the Son of God...ie the jews think jesus went too far by claiming his divinity and should have just stuck with the prophet gig?
Or are you saying BECAUSE he claimed to be the son of god, they rejected his claim to be a prophet? So if he had just said he was the prophet, the jews would have believed him?
Originally posted by @uzlessWhat did Muhammad do to validate his claim that God spoke to him? What evidence exists to support that claim?
But how do we know if the jews were wrong? Just like how do we know the christians aren't wrong and Mohammed is really the 2nd prophet?

It would be interesting to hear some comments from those who have no horse in this race, about what Jesus means here. I get tired of sonship using the passage to condemn those he disagrees with. Here is the whole passage and the gist of what I think Jesus is saying:
- False prophets are like a corrupt tree which produces evil fruit
- Corrupt trees are c ...[text shortened]... and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
(Matthew 7:15-27 KJV)
I reserved that kind of scolding for a few persistent twisters of the Scripture to propagate a destructive false teaching attacking a crucial aspect of the Christian faith. ie. attacking the nature of Christ as God incarnate or the work of His salvation.
I did not refer to any and every differing interpretation of a biblical matter as false prophecy.

By saying that you are showing you have a deep seated bias that cripples the possibility of having a meaningful and open discussion about salvation, eternal life, the grace of God, justification, sanctification, glorification and the many other aspects of grace associated with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
What do you say we jump back to the point where Jesus said "it is finished"? What did Jesus mean? Why did He say teleล? What was finished?

- Christ did it all and there is nothing to do but practice mouth worship
- Christians now have a licence to sin .
- etc etc ..
Nothing of the sort is implied by 'it is finished'
All it means is that the work of Christ is finished.
Man .. or men who would like to be in the Kingdom of God has WORK TO DO.
Need some bible references for that ? I have loads of them. Let me know.
