All it means is that the work of Christ is finished.
Man .. or men who would like to be in the Kingdo ...[text shortened]... of God has WORK TO DO.
Need some bible references for that ? I have loads of them. Let me know.
Do you believe you have to earn your salvation and that you are saved by your own works? Yes or No?

I would be happy to answer questions that are based on scripture.
I answer no questions which are:
- of a personal nature
- which are based on your church doctrine.

If your question is based on scripture then please point me to the reference, thanks

It is way too late for you to impress us with this kind of nonsense talk.

You really have just about nothing left to salvage around this Forum as far as Christian teaching is concerned.

What you have essentially provided to this Forum is a messed up and dark backround of ignorance against which some truth can shine forth in definite relief by contrast.

You are going through the same stage of denial.
You are seeing your cherished doctrines condemned by Christ and Paul.
Its a very hard stage to go through.
But once you get through it the grass is greener on the other side of OSAS.
OSAS is a cesspool of filth and garbage.

On this side of the fence:
Your life goals are clearer.
You understand the teachings of Christ
You become a sheep of Christ
You follow Christ and He knows you
He will give you eternal life.

Right now you have nothing except talk
Get away from the mouthworship
and into the real life that Christ had in store for his followers

Truly spectacular wishful thinking on your part.
Don't dislocate your arm patting yourself on the back

But you cannot defeat the arguments put forth about the assurance of eternal redemption.

And I still have not seen any effective reply to First John 5:11-13.

You won't do it this time either because your heart is the heart of a stinking toilet foul crap.

REFUTE IT then.

"And this is the testimony, that God gave to us eternal life and this life is in His Son. (v.11)

He who has the Son has the life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. (v.12)

I have written these things to you that you may now that you have eternal life, to you who believe into the name of the Son of God.( v.13)

You CANNOT refute it.
You can't do it.

Rajk999, you cannot refute First John 5:11-13.
Not then in the past. Not now. Not ever as far as I can see.

So you know what you'll do instead?
You will harp on all the cases of poorly behaving religious people you know and THINK that gives you some credence to think You and only You are qualified to interpret the New Testament.

Your foundation is not Christ at all.
You whole foundation is your lust to gloat at scandals assuming that endows you with authority to imagine you're the only one who understands the Gospel.

I think since you know that your own life is no better, you cover up that hypocrisy with some phony humility that says - "Oh, I NEVER talk about my experience."

Because it is so poor and miserable, is why you never want to mention it but only doctrines.

Why then don't you remove the "Enjoying" under you tag and write something more truthful - "Dogmatic" or "Doctrinal" ?

If you think that standing on First John 5:11-13 is only done so as to justify continuing in sin, that's your own obsessive strawman argument.

How come you don't accuse the Apostle John for writing that ONLY so that he could continue to live a sinning life?

tell John then why he really wrote it according to your opinion.

"These things he wrote that all Christians may continue to live as if they were not saved by the Son of God. "

Where is the sin in KNOWING that one has the Son and has eternal life? Where?

" I have written these things to you that you may know that you have eternal life. to you who believe into the name of the Son of God." (1 John 5:13)

Condemn his motive then.
Show his teaching as erroneous then.

Thats it?
That proves that you are eternally saved - you have eternal life
by just professing that you know the name of Jesus Christ?
And not even God can revoke it? Really
You are a funny man.

You’re a sad case, Karoly.

You have the opportunity to know Christ and you refuse. You have the opportunity to learn, but instead of asking questions, you pretend you have all the answers.

Your pride is getting in the way of knowing and accepting Jesus Christ. But that’s sadly a common occurrence, especially in here.

How many times do you have to hear that it’s belief in Christ and in His Resurrection that causes one to obtain salvation - and not “head belief,” but “heart belief.” It is this heart belief, or a sincere, committed and self-sacrificing belief, that leads to the indwelling of God’s Holy Spirit in a new believer and God’s Holy Spirit works to change that believer’s heart and, consequently, his or her behavior.

God looks on the heart - not on outward appearance and behavior. That’s just one reason why your “salvation by works” doctrine is such a load of bollocks.

“But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.”

(1 Samuel 16:7)

Remember how impressed Jesus was by the widow with two mites? Was He impressed by the size of her offering or by the heart that led her to give it?

“And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.

And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.

And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:

For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.”

(Mark 12:41-44)

You know why you’ll never accept Christ into your heart and believe in Him and His Resurrection?

Part of it’s your pride, but it’s mostly that you don’t believe Jesus was/is God in the flesh. You deny the deity of Christ.

What is it about the Gospels and the rest of the New Testament that you don’t believe?

Do you not believe Jesus performed miracles, including raising at least three people from the dead?

Do you not believe Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies about God appearing in the flesh to man?

Do you not believe Jesus was Resurrected from the dead?

What work was that, Rajk?

I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
(John 17:4 KJV)

His work is finished. His work was to PREPARE THE WAY for man

Man has work to do before he inherits the Kingdom of God. And that work is to live righteously

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. (Ephesians 5:3-5 KJV)

That's really strange Rajk. I mean, you quoted John 17:4, but that happened before the crucifixion. I'm certain we were discussing what Jesus said on the cross.

On the cross Jesus said "it is finished". What did he mean?

He means his work is finished. Why do you keep asking that over and over.

John 17 is the prayer to God just before his betrayal and crucificion.

HIS WORK IS DONE, FINISHED.

His work was the spread the gospel among the Jews and to die on the cross so that man can have AN OPPORTUNITY FOR ETERNAL LIFE.

Jesus didn't say on the cross His "work was finished".

He said, "it is finished", and I'm certain you don't know what "it" is.
