Originally posted by KellyJayOK then, forget about Grampy Bobby. Here's a question for you and you alone: do you think that I ~ an ex-Christian and an "unbeliever" [in Christian terms] ~ am now a permanent member of Christ's Royal Family and that I cannot lose my salvation on account of the fact that I used to believe in Christ at one point in my life?
If you are interested in my views, I suggest you read them as I have
shared them with you on what is important. Bobby's views are his own and
he can defend them as he wills, I don't care to one way or another. I have
shared with you what is the most important thing with respect to our
salvation and it wasn't dependent on me being right about any belief ...[text shortened]... through Him, not checking off of some list all
the things we get right instead of wrong.

Originally posted by KellyJayWell I was a Christian. That much is clear. I take you at your word when you say that you are a Christian too, so I assume you are reciprocating this respect I am affording you. However, having said that, I am not a Christian any more. Do you belief that the fact I once believed in Jesus Christ means that my salvation is now guaranteed and that I am a permanent member of Christ's Royal Family despite my loss of faith?
You cannot lose what you never had.

You may have believed in Jesus Christ, but did you have a relationship with
Him? Did you walk in the Spirit of God?

Yes to all these things.
[b]If you are going to tell me yes I had a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, than how can you now say your an unbeliever?
Because I stopped believing.
If you are an unbeliever NOW, than you have to deny what your claims
about Christ Jesus were, were never real. You cannot have it both ways.
My beliefs w ...[text shortened]... one time, and "not believing" at a later time, then I certainly went through both those states.[/b]

Well here we go. KJ is going to redefine the word 'Christian'. Maybe you can lay your definition on the table and see if all other Christians around the forums agree with it.

[b]No, you don't get it! You are not that important, that if you believe in
something it is real so its real, but if you stop it is not. It is either real and
always was, or it never was real.
If you want to tell me that you were faking it, than got to the point that you
had to reject faking it, than I'm telling you, YOU NEVER had a real
relationship with ...[text shortened]... Lord and accepting Jesus into your life.

No I wasn't faking it. I was a Christian.[/b]

I was an adult Christian for 28 years. But I no longer subscribe to the claims made about Christ.

If you've believed in Christ in a moment of time you're a permanent member of Christ ...[text shortened]... ? If this is what happens to them, are they still "a permanent member of Christ's Royal Family"?

This is an excellent question, my view is this:
If you are born into a family you cannot be born out of it. If you are not born into it then you are not part of it. What happens in your life is irrelevant to whom your parents are, they will always be your parents.
Your question demoninates to one of works -I.e. I gave up my belief therefore I am n ...[text shortened]... when you think you are out, you are in".
What you think is irrelevant, seek your birthright.
