Here is my take: You want us to do your research, which is intellectual laziness.
You are quite capable I'm sure of googling stuff for yourself., but the fact is, when you tie your to some expert or other, everyone else in the universe is second class and therefore you can look down from your lofty position and claim superiority in your own mind.
The fact is, ...[text shortened]... ere, only that which you think you can tear down. That is not science. That is in fact ANTI science.
If you need to do research then you don't know. The reason you don't know is because I am right and I have Brian Greene on my side. Why would I do research to answer a question that has no answer? I am pointing out that you have no ability to answer the question because you are wrong.

Gravity doesn't cause time dilation, matter does. Time dilation causes the force of gravity. I could argue they are the same thing. There is no logical reason gravity would be a cause of time dilation. See Occam's razor.

you are wrong there on both accounts.

@Metal-Brain
You are quibbling over semantics now. Mass not matter causes a change in flat spacetime. That change includes bending of space we perceive as gravity. It also causes time flow shifts. But Time flow shifts don't cause gravity. MASS causes BOTH at the same time so again, Time shift is an effect not a cause.
If there was no mass in the universe a clock would run the same here and a billion light years away.
But if a mass is trying to move close to c, THAT also causes time flow shifts, again an EFFECT of mass moving not a cause. I brought up the point that if TD CAUSES gravity, why couldn't we make a space drive out of it and you totally misread what I said as if I was being serious. I was showing how absurd it is to think TD CAUSES gravity. Another problem with your reading comprehension.

Mass is matter. Space-time is not flat either. That is a two dimensional way of explaining it.

"MASS causes BOTH at the same time so again, Time shift is an effect not a cause."

Time dilation is an effect of mass. Time dilation is NOT an effect of gravity.

Those assertions makes no sense. Why would time dilation be an effect of mass and not gravity? All mass causes gravity. Gravity causes time dilation. Therefore all mass via gravity causes time dilation. But now you say mass causes time dilation even without gravity? How would you explain how that would work?

Time dilation is gravity.

Time dilation is gravity.
It is not.

The problem is he either won't read it or choose to not understand it if he does.

Time dilation from matter is, not velocity.

Stop relying on wikipedia. You already contradicted yourself based on info you got from wikipedia. You don't know what you are talking about.

Why would time dilation be the result of gravity? You cannot answer the question because it wouldn't make any sense. Only an ignoramus would think that.

@Metal-Brain
WHY? Are you just being dense or are you really that stupid?
Gravity is a bending of spacetime. Where spacetime is squeezed by mass the result is a gravity well which means there are sides to the well which means there will be a gradient in time flow from inside the well to way outside.
You can troll all you want but that won't change reality like you want.
You WANT for everyone to be wrong but you. You WANT to show your abject superiority.
That is your motivation for all this trolling. And believe me, that is what it is. TROLLING. You only listen to the experts you think makes everyone else stupid.

Stop relying on wikipedia.
In other words, you are telling us not to read or take notice what wikipedia says because wikipedia keeps contradicting your opinions. Since wikipedia is written by the experts, telling us not to read wikipedia is telling us not to listen to the experts and what the science says (not to mention that some of us here ARE the experts). Sorry! We will keep listening to the experts and what the science says! You cannot stop us!

" You WANT to show your abject superiority. "

Why do you think that? Do you think I am superior? If not, why are you bringing it up?

Space-time cannot bend without time dilation. If it could it would be called bent space, not bent space-time. This is not complicated. You just think it is.

Your explanation makes no sense. Sides to the well? Well, well, the sides of the well. You understand things so well time dilation is caused by the well.

BTW, what is a well?

No, you clearly just delusionally think you are intellectually superior. Newsflash; you aren't.

Funny how people think they are superior to Brian Greene and Einstein.

Not us.
+ Brian Greene and Einstein don't support your opinions we experts say are wrong.
You clearly haven't understood much of what either Brian Greene or Einstein said.
