In order to settle a long standing antitrust challenge by the Office of Fair Trading the Thatcher led UK government deregulated the financial markets. It was the outcome of an agreement with the London stock exchange which was initiated a few years earlier.
The effect on the financial markets was termed the “Big Bang” and it resulted in London becoming the most important financial centre in the world with the resultant boom driving huge investment in London such as the development of the Isle of Dogs and the Canary Wharf area.

Dude, who's the chick in your avatar?I'm sorry you're confused about my gender. I could provide proof if we ever met in person, but I usually try to avoid associating with dickheads.

Black Tuesday; the most catastrophic day in stock market history, the herald of the Great Depression. 16 million shares were sold at declining prices.
By mid-November that year $30 billion of the $80 billion worth of stocks listed in September will have been wiped out. That’s quite a lump for 1926.

Uranus is in the Bible. It is translated as "Firmament".On this day you thought about Uranus?
I hope you are not suggesting that biblical writers knew of the planet Uranus!
"Uranus" or similar is Ancient Greek for sky/heaven or "firmament".
