    The slave owners were American, British, Portuguese, Spanish etc etc. They were not Jews. The Law of Moses were given to the JEWS. Many professed Christians do not believe in following the Law of Moses neither the commandments of Christ.

    The Jews also frequently disobeyed the law, which is why God punished them many times, including by inflicting death. God was even going to slaughter the Jews entirely until Moses begged God not do it.

    "God fearing Jews" indeed.

    And this is who you're defending as "fair and just". A people who believed in slavery, who their own god wanted to eliminate from the earth.

    If you believed that this God (described above) existed and that He had given you your life in return for your obedience [if you'll accept this simplification/ encapsulation for the sake of discussion] what would be your stance on defending his authority and power when discussing Him with non-believers?
