@divegeester saidI'm fine thanks, you....?
How are you today?
Works well enough for someone that you've met before but don't know very well. Way too formal for friends, (where I come from) (England) which is more likely to be 'Alright....?' or 'How's it going?' although for really good friends nothing need be said at all, a look is often sufficient. Silence is the art of conversation.
As an aside, I have a very good German friend who advised me to never ask a German how they are, because they'll tell you.

@divegeester said'Do you know a vet who will treat my hamster'
I use this greeting when meeting foreigners:
“Where abouts are you from, do you put the kettle on?”
also works.

The post that was quoted here has been removedHahah!
I'm pretty sure Suzi has a heightened sensorium and well-developed anticipatory skills, so I imagine that at their first encounter she would say something knowingly snippy preemptively, or flatten his nose (also preemptively, but only after reviewing the legal risks).
Edit: Or maybe Suzi is the sister Dive never had, and Dive is the brother Suzi never had. ๐ค

@Duchess64
I've been holding off because I'm probably not the right one to ask, but how are things with you, Duchess?
