I read the Gospels because I value the teachings ascribed to Jesus and I used to like to discuss them with my Father-in-Law who was a Lay Preacher for the Church of England before he died. Here, in psalm 100, written 1,000 years before Jesus Christ’s earthly ministry, He is referred to as “God.”

“Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.”

(Psalm 100:3)

Lines up with…

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”

(John 1:1-3)

“He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

He came unto his own, and his own received him not.”
