As a Christian do you think the actions of the Israelites in slaughtering the Akalemites fits the description of genocide?

A direct answer to a question coupled with some refreshing honesty!! I think I may have to lie down.

If you think the flood was genocide then it doesn't matter. If only Robert could be so forthcoming.

Simple answer... there is a hell, it's not eternal and there will be humans in it.

This is not my opinion, and it's not based on speculation or on how it makes me feel. You can feel horrified all you want, but the fact remains this is the religion you claim to be a part of. So unless you belong to a cult that simply picks and chooses what it wishes to believe, this is what the religion you claim to be a member of teaches.

It makes little sense for you to consistently argue against a faith you profess to believe and align yourself with. So perhaps you should rethink your purported allegiance to Christianity and align yourself with something more to your liking. If Christianity is abhorrent to you, and doesn't agree with what you believe, there are dozens of other religions you might find more agreeable... you might even find one tailored made just for you.

If you could manage to clear the cobwebs from your mind you might have less trouble understanding what you read.

Mainstream contemporary (modern day) Christianity has been moving away from fundamental Christian teaching. So my views do not represent "mainstream" modern day thinking. "Mainstream", "contemporary", "modern day"... these words all suggest Christianity necessarily changes with the times and according to the whims of men.

Men like Hitler who put a gun in their mouth and pull the trigger think they are escaping punishment. Too bad for them, there is no escape.

No, that's not what "we are told". It may be "what you thought you read", or "what you imagined when you read it". This is the same beef I have with Ron and his young earth nonsense. He also claims, "I prefer to believe the Bible", when the Bible never mentions the age of the earth.

And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and consumed them, and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

I have no horse in the race. What God decides I trust to be good and just.

Interestingly, you seem to be on the side of Robbie who also does not believe in a hell of pain and suffering even though scripture seems to indicate there is.

My perspective on the issue is both biased and devoid of all the facts

The Holy Bible does mention the age of the earth in Genesis, It says it was less that six days old by the end of the creation week. So we have to start calculating from that time.

I know that many women do not like Arithmetic, but to determine the age of the Earth today and the existence of man on it is as easy as adding the time revealed in the Holy Bible from one incident in history to another after creation until we get to known historical times. By doing that we can determine that there has been about 6,000 years of elapsed time since the six days of creation.

Which is just another of your vast repertory of viscous lies. Outright lies.
