@kellyjay saidAnd every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, .. (Matthew 7:26 KJV)
You again are putting words in Jesus’s mouth.
They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

@secondson saidThe fact remains that Jesus explicitly states that keeping His commandments is required to receive the Spirit of Truth in the passages cited from John 14.
@Rajk999 @ThinkOfOne
Pretenders posting in a spirituality forum. Not really believers or followers of Jesus. It's obvious you're lying.
Are you going to actually address it or continue to dance around this fact?

@kellyjay saidThe fact remains that Jesus explicitly states that keeping His commandments is required to receive the Spirit of Truth in the passages cited from John 14.
You should read the whole chapter, for that matter the whole book, for that matter the whole Bible.
Are you going to actually address it or continue to dance around this fact?
@kellyjay saidHow does mindlessly regurgitating the dogma that you've been taught actually addresses the points Rajk999 made in his post?
It is due to God’s grace we can come to God, your gospel has us earning our way to God. We come to God because He justifies us so we can abide in Him. If we have to be good enough before He receives us, we will never get close enough to abide in Him.
@thinkofone saidSo what?
The fact remains that Jesus explicitly states that keeping His commandments is required to receive the Spirit of Truth in the passages cited from John 14.

@thinkofone saidIt’s probably more honourable and beneficial than mindlessly regurgitating the dogma you secretly don’t believe in.

@thinkofone saidJesus tells us in Chapter 14 we need to believe in Him! You cannot take out a single line of a conversation without the rest of the context to understand the context of the conversation.

"“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me."
Of course we are to keep His commandments, but before Christ laid down His life for us we were at odds with God, dead in our sins. In that time when Jesus was walking the earth there was the Law, there were sacrifices for sin had to be done as God said.
In the temple were, there was a curtain that separated the Holy place from the most Holy place. No one could approach God just because they wanted too, sins kept us from even doing that. The most Holy place could only be entered at the appointed times, by one who had been appointed and even they had to be ready, no other could! To suggest you could do something to make yourself worthy to even approach God is arrogance in the extreme.
Exodus 26:32-34 English Standard Version (ESV)
32 And you shall hang it on four pillars of acacia overlaid with gold, with hooks of gold, on four bases of silver. 33 And you shall hang the veil from the clasps, and bring the ark of the testimony in there within the veil. And the veil shall separate for you the Holy Place from the Most Holy. 34 You shall put the mercy seat on the ark of the testimony in the Most Holy Place.
Mark 15:37-39 English Standard Version (ESV)
37 And Jesus uttered a loud cry and breathed his last. 38 And the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. 39 And when the centurion, who stood facing him, saw that in this way he breathed his last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!”
What you keep going on about is what takes place after we receive God's forgiveness, as if that is what wins us our salvation, that is not the case.
Romans 3:21-23 English Standard Version (ESV)
21 But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

How exactly does what you've posted here actually address this fact? You seem to believe that "Jesus tell[ing] us in Chapter 14 we need to believe in Him" somehow means that Jesus didn't also say that only those who keep His commandments receive the Spirit of Truth.

So whats the big deal that Jesus said it?
@thinkofone saidIf you are putting your faith in Jesus, believing in Him you are doing what He says, therefore, ask and receive.

Given your long history of trolling posts, why would anyone go to the trouble of summarizing what you can easily read for yourself?
