@Michael-Martin
If you have 'weeks or even months where you don't have to do much' (your words) how can it be the case that 'most of the time it's never less then 25 hours'? (Again, your words).
@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidThank you. I used to be closer to a thousand active games.
As an aside, I salute your game load sir. Impressive.

If you can't be honest in what you write, please don't bother. We're not simpletons.
Michael doesn't always explain things as you would like him to, but he does it to the best of his ability, you picking apart the context of what he says to suit yourself doesn't do anyone any good or solve an issues, Larry jumping in to agree with you who had issues with Michael is quite bias in my humble opinion, and YES I always have an opinion. Michael is the hardest working Clan Leader on the Site at this moment in time, of course I am bias having said that. It is something I truly believe having been involved in the Clan Challenges for close to 19 years!!!
Why don't you just take what Michael tried to explain about the 40 hours at face value not that it even matters, you are just putting the focus on Clan Leaders having to spend 40 hours a week which is NOT WHAT MICHAEL SAID....Yes the Caps were meant to emphasize my point.
Let's just agree to disagree on this you want a two tier Clan Challenge I want ONE, also I am not the only one, that is not going to improve the Clan Challenge system in anyway. It just going to cause more problems.
I believe a far better way of helping to solve the Clan Challenges is to amalgamate the smaller clans into bigger ones that can compete, make Co-Clan Leaders to help, You are a great Co-Clan Leader now, without having the title.
You want quality over quantity and doing it this way could help provide that.
I believe we could accomplish much more working together than trying to work against each other. I am sure there is much we can agree on. We all want to improve the Clan Challenges, but all have to try to be on the same page to a certain degree, again in my humble opinion.
Now lets, Please try and work together and do something constructive to improve the Clan Challenges!
Kindest Regards,

As we are having an open discussion - I think we should look at, evaluate, and respect some other ideas. There is no one correct answer.
1. I cannot think of any competition or table where all the participants don't play the same number of games or matches in a season. In our case the season is a calendar year. Not one.
2. It makes is sound like the competition is based on work-rate and time put in - not chess. I have a new clan for 2025. It sounds like unless I am willing to spend 40 hours a week managing it - I have no chance of winning this year's competition.
And maybe that is all fine. Maybe that is what the clan leaders want and we should make zero changes.
I keep hearing we want to to grow the system. How are we going to grow the system?

Some valid points here Bish, and good to have this discussion. I would probably add:
3. A higher minimum number of players required in a given clan. (Which might incentivise small clans to join together and be more competitive).

Once again my friend you are miss representing what Michael said. He did say he spent 40 hours a week in his first years, but it is rare for him to do so now, I believe it is more like 25, and he has had people fill in for him at times when he has been ill. I have done so myself a few times, but had to be told by another Clan Leader about the 200 rule and that a Challenge would sit there forever if it was left which I wasn't aware. There really is much to know, I thank that leader for letting me know, he knows who I am talking about. There are times he may go weeks without spending much time on the challenges.
I do agree as I have been promoting it for ever and a day that amalgamation of the smaller clans into bigger clans would make sense. I also like the idea of having Co-Clan Leader to help out the Clan Leader it would lighten the load, especially if the co-clan leader could make challenges also. Perhaps running it by the Clan Leader before doing so, as I've said working together makes more sense than working against each other.
I believe we are in agreement with more than we disagree on, it is like in a challenge, we have to negotiate. We certainly look forward to playing your Clan.
As far as growing the Clans I've already suggested a way to do this in the Greeting Players section where there are good players just not Paying members yet. Getting them to join would help increase members and also help the site with Paying subscribers.
Some things we can change and others just can't be changed. If you want to keep just 3 consecutive challenges with a clan at a time instead of unlimited. We could leave it as is, even though I don't see the need for it anymore. The reason it was done was because of some tactics being used by a few people no longer with us.
BTW: I gave you a thumbs up on your aforementioned post. 😉
Respectfully,
As Always,

Just take a moment before you rush to reply. - It is a constructive conversation. (My comments were at the bottom).

A thumbs down, REALLY???
Yes, I did notice that afterwards, and I didn't RUSH as you put it to reply, and I did agree on ideas that were made, It isn't important if it was by you or by Bish, they were very good points.
I was correcting a few misunderstandings about what Michael said concerning the hours spent and when they had been spent. I thought we were already beyond that point.
Respectfully as Always,
