I am absolutely gutted by the latest news regarding the dead swans in Rome. This virus has to be stopped before all our fowls are overcome! The apathy of the regional authorities is going to cost us dearly. I'm scared just to go outside, you never know when it's going to hit!

I'm wearing a builders dust mask as I type this. I've also told my cat he is not to go hunting birds until I say it's ok. If that filthy feline brings any germs into my house and he'll be strung out to make old fashioned guitar strings quicker than you can say H5N1.

Do you not care about H5N1?

Edit - I just noticed H5N1 is an 31337 (eleet for you N0085) anagram of 5H1N.

Maybe the human shin is the weakspot where H5N1 can infect a person. I'm putting my shin pads on as I type.

The four horseman of the apocalypse.
Rev 9:17-19

This is how I saw the horses in my vision: The horsemen had breastplates that were fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow. The heads of the horses were like lions' heads, and from their mouths came fire, smoke, and sulfur.

A third of the human race was killed by these three plagues—by the fire, the smoke, and the sulfur that came from their mouths.

For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails, because their tails, like snakes, have heads, and they inflict injury with them.

Hey - that's from one of my top 10 "desert island fiction" book choices!

This ain't 3 plagues... it's one virus. My shins hurt and my nose is running. I'm going to hermetically seal my house this evening. Those birds won't finish me off in a hurry....

Can my computer catch the H5N1 virus? Should I be typing? What if my 5 and F keys (my two favourite) are infected?

I'm scared!

holycrapoly! I didn't think of that!
The H5N1 gets into the birds, then they get sick and can't fly... then... they bite our shins! We're going to need some extra antihistamines stat!
(note: you shouldn't take antihistamines if you are also on erythromycin, itraconazole or ketoconazole)

The culling has to be increased! These birds are not taking no for an answer!

Fact: In the village of Topraisar, which is 20 clicks South West (as the crow flies) from Romania's largest port, several suspicious birds have been identified! My thoughts are with you, dear Romania, in your time of struggle against this uncanny avian nightmare.
