If I may address this in "Star Trek: Discovery" terms, how could you even be considered fit for the role -- whether anyone likes or accepts you or not -- without evidence that you would jettison a certain deplorable hanger-on (your rabid pound-puppy @divegeester) if necessary for the greater good?
