C'mon, the current price is like 60 cents per week, due the math and see you are getting a deal. or are you just trying to get someone to pay for your subscription so they don't have to hear you complain about it?

no I'm not expecting anyone else to pay my subscription, I think $29.95 is a bit steep (presuambly $US as well) just remember internet chess shouldn't be the domain of rich cyber-geeks

So you're trying to claim that a $30 per year fee is something only affordable by the rich?!

Most people either blow that much on one night out a week or earn it in a few hours of work.

Most people with access to the web, let alone leisure time to spend playing chess on it, do.

New Zealand minimum wage $10.25 per hour.

It would cost you 44.60NZD to become a sub. That is around 4 hours work, less then that if you are earning above the minimum wage. If you would do 4 hours work for a service that you would use for a year then pay. If you wouldn't do the work for the site then don't become a subscriber. I wouldn't say 4 hours work is a lot, you could spread it over 4 weeks and hardly notice it.

I believe you have made a great point here, the cost is like 60 per week. In the US that is a can of soda pop. I will gladly give up one can of soda a week for my chess.

I know people who can't afford it - personally I'm happy with 6 games max which is a great price.
