Ukraine banned Russian and Hungarian as first languages being taught in schools. And they were very nasty towards the Russian speaking people in the East.
And Ukraine always has had an extremely vocal extreme right.
Of course this doesn’t mean “invade us”, but to say Ukraine is a completely innocent party in this is bending the truth towards trumpistic proportions.

The truth is that the Muscovites have worked toward the eradication of Ukraine as a national, cultural and territorial entity for a very long time and Putins invasion is just the latest attempt.
No one’s claiming that Ukraine is a nation of angels or that they do not have some serious issues that need to be sorted out but to conflate them with an invasion by nation that has at least as many issues is simply being a Kremlin sycophant and enabler.
They weren’t very nice to the people in the east because the people in the east were collaborating with the Russian army of invasion of 2014 and have been ever since.
Why would you have your oppressors language alongside your own. There is only one invading army and it’s a war crime committing brutish Russian one.
You only have to look at how the Russian state deals with dissent, real, or imagined to know that you and MBs concerns about Ukraine amount to one big hypocritical steaming turd of appeasement.
