@techsouth saidI do but your either too disingenuous or to illiterate to either admit or recognise it.
Here is what you said about a Republican who got assaulted when I asked if Biden should face civil liability.
No not unless you have a deep fake video of Biden ordering his version of the proud boys to assault Republican canvassers?
I'm sure you will tell me your reasons as to why these are different, but you do not appear to be a person that is willing to make an attempt to judge consistently.
If you cannot tell the difference between a politician calling for an end to political extremism and violence and a constant drumbeat from the other main stream party accusing the democrat leaders of stealing an election by rigging the machines and dumping fake votes at counting houses, then there are the Qanon supporting republican lawmakers like Trump and MTG.
If you think Biden’s speech even came close to inciting violence on the level that the MAGA party has then you really need to post some examples.
And remember this 85 yr old man was in his own home not running around in what many people rightly or wrongly see as a symbol of division and hatred towards other Americans. Maybe there are places where MAGA hats shouldn’t go, I live in a country where wearing the wrong football shirt can get you into all sorts of bother but people just apply reasonable caution.
@jj-adams saidIn the section I quoted for you, can you actually read?
WHERE does it say that the murder rate is 75/4 ?
It’s not the murder rate, it’s the % difference between right wing extremist murders and left wing extremist murders.
It’s apparently base on the last 450 politically motivated extremist murders.

Although both Democratic and Republican lawmakers have faced a number of threats in recent months, the increase is not evenly distributed along the political spectrum. According to a study conducted by the Anti-Defamation League, rightwing extremists have committed about 75% of the 450 political murders that occurred in the US over the past decade, compared with 4% attributed to leftwing extremists.
The link to the “study” goes here which has a paywall:

ADL has this article:

New York, NY, February 15, 2022 … Right-wing extremists were linked to at least 26 extremist-related murders in the United States in 2021 and have been responsible for 75 percent of such murders in the last ten years, according to new data from ADL (Anti-Defamation League).
@athousandyoung saidWell, if the "Anti-Defamation League" says so, then it must be true.https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/oct/29/paul-pelosi-attack-political-violence-us?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

@kevcvs57 saidCalling your rivals fascists and then telling them to stop being fascists may seem like the high road, but it is nothing like that at all.

How do Republicans stop being fascists? According to Democrats, you stop being fascists by agreeing with ALL Democrat talking points.
When people like Jordan Peterson and organizations like the Babylon Bee are deplatformed for being too extreme, don't talk to be about NOT being extreme. I've pretty much accepted that my opinions are going to be too extreme to gain approval from Democrats.

This is a cop-out straw man. Obviously there are elements of fascism in the Republican party. The tough guy escalation of rhetoric regarding law and order, but only when it suits them (e.g. they say "no one is safe in Biden's America" but will refuse to testify under oath regarding alleged crimes). There' also the element of MAGA Republicanism that no longer believes in election outcomes.
One can acknowledge the fascist implications of politicians who espouse a one sided justice system that undermines the integrity of elections that they lose without agreeing with anything related to Democratic party politics.
@athousandyoung saidAnd, of course, I can believe it, @aty.https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/oct/29/paul-pelosi-attack-political-violence-us?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

But it is completely prejudicial for the same people to ignore 36 murders by BLM/Antifa, or left wing radicals.
This person who attacked Paul Pelosi is obviously mentally unbalanced and should be locked away for a long time.
But I would like to add this:
In 2020, Senator Rand Paul was attacked by a neighbor.
Prosecutors reveal why Rand Paul was attacked by neighbor
Rene Boucher, 58, was charged assaulting a member of Congress, which is a felony, on Friday months after his sneak attack on Sen. Rand Paul in November, according to officials.
------
So firstly, Senator Rand Paul is a member of Congress, which has special laws (supposedly) to protect them.
Paul Pelosi is not a member of congress, he is merely married to such a person.
So the attacker of P.Pelosi was arrested promptly, yet it took *months* for officials to charge Rand Paul's attacker.
Rene Boucher must also serve six months in home confinement, U.S. District Court Judge Matthew Leitman said Monday. Boucher will receive credit for the 30 days in prison he has already served.
Boucher had initially been sentenced to 30 days in jail...
---------------------------------------
Initially sentenced to 30 days. what a JOKE,
Also, Rand Paul was injured so badly he spent months in the hospital.
And the point I am trying to make is, when a big-wig democrat is attacked, watch the law come down real heavy.
Did y'all notice the helicopter TV crew was over the Pelosi mansion all day? they didn't do that for Rand Paul.
Prejudice much?

@techsouth saidYeah when your rivals aren’t actually fascists it Would be the high road but the GOP has developed a fascist streak that cannot be reconciled under the usual rules of political debate. The GOP has been hijacked by a cadre of fascist leaning individuals and it’s imperative that the historically non fascist members and supporters of the GOP need to put their hands up and be recognised if the GOP is to survive.

@earl-of-trumps saidThe Paul case was two middle aged men fighting over yard waste. Boucher had no criminal record, didn't break into someone's house and didn't hit anybody with a hammer. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/rand-paul-attacker-sentenced-additional-prison-time-over-yard-assault-n1235013

Boucher was charged immediately with assault in Kentucky before Federal prosecutors decided to take the case - probably because the State charge was only a misdemeanor:
"After the incident, police charged the senator’s neighbor and fellow doctor, Rene Boucher, with fourth-degree assault. Boucher was released Saturday on a $7,500 bond."

@averagejoe1 saidYou’ve learnt fukk all here, man.
Your first sentence begs for explanation. Ha, just the fact that libs loaded Biden into the White House is enough to prove the falsehood of your 'weight' theory.
Go with Kev's mindset though, great bedfellows. We learn so much here. 🤔
You get facts and information presented to you on a serving tray and it just doesn’t stick.
You are a donkey. Constantly banging your head on the fridge door and wondering why you can’t heat up your grits.
