@Very-Rusty saidYou can always choose 1/3 settings to make sure the challenge ends soon. Where is the sense of a 3/7 setting if you want another limit?
As I have said if a Challenge is being held up on purpose and has went on for 4 months we will close it, PERIOD!!! That is more than enough time to play a 3/7 time limit. I would do it in 2 months if it was up to me!!! I finish games in a week, then there aren't a lot of players who play as fast as I do, but they are on here and I try to get matched up with them if possible. Seems like you have much to learn by the way your talking.

You could put up a suggestions to introduce a 0/120 setting if you are so admant the challenges finishes in that time
@My-King-And-I saidI think this could make sense.
Obviously a separate clan rating for each player is needed and most agreed with that and the ones that don't obviously want the system to stay the same way so they can keep abusing the system.
Now for points...
Forget the current points system and do a plus/minus score for each player.
Win a game and your player is plus one.
Lose or resign and your back to zero. ...[text shortened]... to lower their rating for clan games and resigning any clan games would hurt your plus/minus score.
We could at least have a go at this.

As you are aware I don't have anything to do with the time on the Challenges that is left to Michael. A lot of the time Clan Leaders have certain times they want to play and if we like the match ups accept them as we can not dictate the times Clan Leaders want.
I have suggested to stay away from the 7/14's as you know that could take a year or longer to finish up. I don't recall us ever having a 1/3 but many 3/3's and 3/7's. Yes, I know Michael is aware of the settings.
Thank you kindly for the suggestion!

====================================================
I have been advocating a separate clan challenge Rating for years now @My-King, to no avail, I agree it would cut down on ratings that go between 1200's and 1500's and I use my own rating as an example. I also play other players who I know to be 200-300 points higher than their rating as I've played them for Years!!!!
This can sometimes be due to game load or simply a person having a bad string of games. I lost 4 double games in 4 challenges, now you must know that was not intentional.
Even then people would figure out a way to show a false rating I am sure. You are correct though it would certainly cut down on the abuse of doing those things!!!

@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidHow much are you going to send me? 😲
Drastic action plan to save the clan feature:
1. Michael should disband his clan and take up golf (or stamp collecting).
2. Rusty should join the weakest clan and help build it up.
3. Trev should send me his bank details.
@Ponderable saidIf it were up to me my friend, I really would use the 1/3 but as Rusty said and I know you have seen this, the other leader has a preference of what time they want to use. Usually it's 3/7. I try to get 3/3 and the leaders who agree are I am friendly with and they are good leaders. But that is not used often. All leaders have their preference.

@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidYou are really funny. Please keep posting. lol So you are the authority on how often someone should or should not spend working on something that is fun for them? And all within the rules? Punish the leaders who work hard it. Sounds like a great idea. Make sure to tell all the leaders how you feel. PM them to make sure they all understand. lol
Okay, here's the plot.
Although you no longer put in 40 hours a week, as you did in the early years of your clan development, you've stated most weeks now are still no less than 25 hours of work. (I can quote you on this if you'd like? - You said, "Some weeks I only put ten hours in. But most of the time it's never less then 25 hours, and I still put 40 hours." )
...[text shortened]... (Such as an agreed cap on the number of yearly challenges).
It shouldn't all be about quantity.
Should we put rules on you can only post once a month? Rules that say one tournament a year? One PM a month to anyone???
You see, telling anyone how many hours they should or should not put in is almost insane. This is a site for fun. Best site for chess. It allows us the freedom to have as much fun as we want as long as we follow the rules.
And if you think my team wins because of quantity alone, Rusty have been spot on perfect about how little you know about clans, how they work, matches, players, all of it. You actually know less than even what Rusty said you knew.
Also, it is better for the site and for Russ the more we are on this site and the more we work on our teams and having fun while we do it.
You can't run a clan on ten minutes a day. As smart as you are, what is wrong with you that you can't figure that out??? And who in their right mind would tell anyone how much time they should be doing anything on this site that brings them joy???
If I want to win I work hard. If someone else wins I will work harder and smarter.
The fact you are stating how long someone should or should not be working on their clan is outrageous.

I just wish we were as smart as the little group are. Hell we may even be in first place for now. Much can happen during the year, no lead is safe this early. Unless of course no one plans on working. Appears Al has a lot on going challenges. He appears to be one of the few actually working on the Clan Challenges from what I've seen, other than YOU that of course. They will always have something to complain about I believe. Jealousy is an ugly thing it rears its head in here from time to time.

@Very-Rusty saidI agree completely it's just sad. Why not just say great job and work harder to beat us? All is putting in the work and he is more than capable winning this year or next year. I think he had a very busy schedule with work and life. But he is always at the top. I agree with you, he is working "Hard" at it.

Maybe one day we will be as smart as them. It's really a shame. Thank you for posting.
@Michael-Martin saidSo is the Leader of Metallica, anyone that figures they can call it this early in the year are brilliant and should be in first place themselves!!! It is a lot easier to say this is wrong and their doing this wrong, but hell they are the only ones saying it.

They remind me of a bunch of broken Records playing the same song over and over again. Al has 131 on going challenges he could win a lot of those too. He has been doing this a long time as well. He right now has more on going challenges than anyone, unless I am missing something here.

@Michael-Martin saidSo a time-frame has to be agreed from both sides. That means either you only play opponents who are also interested in finishing within the mentioned four month or the rules have to be chnaged that clan matches may not exceed 373. Lets see if that would be the last nail in the coffin of the clan system.

Feel free to challenge me any time at your settings I think you are on my friend list anyway. You could even challenge the Crazy Aquarist clan with me as the sole player
@Ponderable saidHey there my friend..... why is that the last nail ????? I talk to each leader if needed so that we are both happy or I compromise if needed. And so far , it has worked out great for us. You get some who drag it out but for the most part it works out great. Most of my challenges are 3/7 which works fine. I try to get 3/3 when I can get it. I don't think that hurts anyone.

@My-King-And-I saidWell there are 5 or 6 of you that are doing it. Do you think everyone is not aware of the little clique on this Site?
I've never seen so many thumbs down that those two guys get on the regular 😄
Then one of you will cry to a mod and alert a post when something is said you've said worst yourselves!!!ll
EDIT: Have you Sir been living under a rock? This is what the little group you appear to be a part of now do when they don't like something or someone they give thumbs down. It is old, I was asked to do the same thing when I was a part of the little group. You have much to learn!!! I refused to play along with the thumbs down business to appease a certain person, who is the ring leader of the thumbs down brigade!
