Clans

Here's the thing.

Say you are playing a clan challenge against a clan, one member of whom invariably uses the full time allowance for every move. (Not because they are deliberately trying to hold up the challenge, but perhaps because they are carrying a large game load or can only login to the site for a limited time due to life pressures etc). - Now, if they are o ...[text shortened]... hallenge.'

Here is where speed and quantity is to the detriment of chess and the clan experience.
@Ghost,
That possibility happens how many times Ghost??? Get off the same wave length as the king fellow.

I wager it happens more often that someone deliberately holding up the challenge. - In many clans there is one player who moves slower than the others.

@Ghost,
You don't play enough challenges to even KNOW!!!

I'm playing a game against Metálica, the challenge is done, it's lost. The game has been going on for almost 3 months and it's at move 26 and the last ongoing game in the challenge. I'll be damned if I'm resigning or accepting a draw in that game. If it takes another 3 months it takes another 3 months. You see rusty old chap, there's something called pride. A big word I know and no I'm not talking about a group of lions before you Google it because I'm sure it's the first time you've come across this big word.

When you or a clan mate resigns a game that's still in the balance you're taking away the pride or enjoyment of the game from the opponent. And that's why a point per game makes sense. So every game matters and all games are completed without premature resignations.

Again, in many clans there is one player who moves slower than the others. This is a common occurrence.

I don't have to have a degree in clan play to know that.

There is also something called Team which you have to learn about my old friend.

We have had games go over a year for what??? Let them know your going to drag it out and if it is a won challenge you are just giving points away, where you could be starting another challenge.

When you are on a Clan you are playing for TEAM no yourself, no *I* in TEAM!!!

NO, but you have to have played in enough challenges to know that on here and all one needs to do is look at your challenges to see you haven't been in many.

Compare mine to yours, trust me I know better about Clan Challenges at this point in time than you do. You are just better at playing the game is all. I know more about how to play challenges than you or Trevor or Bish. Just a FACT!!!!!

You need to learn more about play Clan Challenges!!!

You need to learn more about the enjoyment of chess.

It is a journey, not a race.

You need to learn how to play in a Team game!!!

It can't be all about YOU, it is the Clan or Team you are playing for, not yourself you don't get that point.

It's true I don't know how to resign games that are undecided, just to end a challenge.

Only somebody who had forgotten the reason we play chess would do that.

Isn't it also about the opponent and their enjoyment of the game?
