The Son of God is the sphere in which the Triune God fulfills His eternal purpose to produce sons of God with sonship. Both the Son of God as the realm in which the sons are produced AND the sons reign and express the mingling of God and man for eternity.

First this verse shows the Son Jesus Christ is the sphere and realm in which the Triune God will obtain sons.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ.

Even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and withjout blemish before Him in love.

Predestinating us unto sonship through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.

To the praise of the glory of His grace , with which He graced us in the Beloved." (EPhesians 1:3-6)

I show how the OP is revealed in Eph. 1:3-6 immediately.

The Son of God is the sphere in which the Triune God fulfills His eternal purpose to produce sons of God with sonship. Both the Son of God as the realm in which the sons are produced AND the sons reign and express the mingling of God and man for eternity.

Because God is "the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ" in verse 3 it is clear that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ . . ." (v3)

Fore the Triune God to produce "sons" in THE Son is seen as a good pleasure God had before the foundation of the world - meaning prior to the creation of the universe.

"Even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world . . . predestinating us unto sonship through Jesus Christ to HImself . . . "

He Who chose us is "the Father."
The Father in the Triune God chose us in the Son in the Triune God before the creation of the universe - "before the foundation of the world"

The Father chose the future sons in the sphere of THE Son even before the universe came into existence, even before God laid the foundation of the world.

Before the Son of God became incarnated as a man He was already the realm and the sphere within which the Triune God, especially God the Father marked out an eternal destiny for them to have the organic life and status position of sons - "predestinating us unto sonship through Jesus Christ [the Son] to Himself [the God and Father] ."

There is no “mingling of God and man for eternity” of god and man mentioned anywhere in the bible.

    “Mingling” … really! LOL

“Before the Son of God became incarnated…”

There is no mention in the bible of the “son of god” existing as an godhead entity prior to his birth in Bethlehem.

The Son was eternal as to being with the Father.
The Son before His incarnation was still the realm within which God the Father in the Trinity "chose us in Him" and also "predestina[ted]" these future sons for sonship through the means of the Son once He becomes incarnated as Jesus Christ.

The Fatherw marked out thier destiny beforehand.
The destiny of the sons of God was determined before the universe was created.
This strongly implies that the meaning of the universe's existence is for the realm
of the "sons" to come into existence and into thier eternal destiny.

That includes that they inherit that which God instrinsically alone possess by His nature - holiness.

" . . . He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy . . ." (v.4)

God alone is by virtue of His nature apart from all other things in existence. He alone is holy (Rev. 15:4).

"Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You ALONE are holy . . . " (Rev. 15:4a)

When the Son of God was incarnated and prayed before His crucifixion He called His Father "holy Father".

"Holy Father, keep them in Your name, which You have goven to Me, that they may be one even as We are. " (John 17:11b)

By definition then, he also CHOSE those who were to be burnt alive in hell for eternity by not selecting them to be these “future sons in the sphere of the son”.

In John 17 we can see that the [plural] sons WILL be eternal befause they will be granted "eternal life".

"Even as You have given Him authority over all flesh to give eternal life to all whom You have given Him." (v.2)

The ones given by the Father TO the Son are eternal to the future because THE Son has authroity to grant to them eternal life.

Of course whoever has eternal life is eternal from the moment they receive that life.

"And this is eternal life, that they may know You [the Father in the Triune God] and Him whom You have sent, Jesus Christ [the Son in the Triune God and embodiment of the Triune God] (v.3)

Could it possibly be that the many sons are eternal but the Son in whom they were chosen, predestinated, and Who had authority to impart to them eternal life is Himself not to be eternal?

It is an absurd thought that the sons will be eternal but the Son will not be eternal.
