On the surface it sounds so ridiculous as to be discarded offhand.

I've been inside the Ark many times. It's in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Never saw Noah there, though.

Why, because you don't think God could or would do it?

It seems physically impossible, and I don't see any evidence for it being more than a fable.

What do think you should see animals, people, the ark, God?

Two of every animal, and 7 of every clean animal rounded up on a boat of that size, then a global flood? You see nothing improbable about that? And dinosaurs? It's silly.

Oh, you mean what kind of evidence. I see no evidence. None.

Not to mention enough food to feed all of them. Unless some went extinct because they were fed to the carnivores.

it wouldn't happen even if you melted all the water in the poles.
And to put ALL species , one of each kind in a ship, you would need a ship 100x bigger then titanic.
Good thing Noah lived hundred of years, or else he would never had time to build it.
I wonder how he went to Australia to save the koalas and kangaroos.

Just another made up story from the Bible. It's fun to tell kids, though.

Don't you think there are a LOT of incoherent things there to believe it happened exactly like in the Bible? Don't you think it's more likely to be a tale from the old days that grew to be a part of an old religion?
At that time it looked fantastic, now it looks absurd.

KellyJay has quite a high chess rating, he's certainly not unintelligent, and I don't mean to come across so dismissive. I'm no longer a Christian, though even when I was I never thought there was any contradiction between Jesus being the Savior and Noah's Ark being a fable. Though I know a lot of Christians who adhere quite strongly to a literal Biblical interpretation. And for them that would be a contradiction.

I can guarantee you that even if you dig WAY under the surface it's still as ridiculous as you suppose.

For example: There are 350.000 different sorts of beetles.
Now, that's already 700.000 beetles Noah would have had to have on board his boat.

Oh. I stand corrected.

According to Wikipedia:

Estimates put the total number of species, described and undescribed, at between 5 and 8 million.

That means between 10 and 16 million (two of each kind) aboard the Arc...
