I don't see that you have anything to complain about...So what's the problem? Was it that you couldn't change Person B despite this massive win in argumentation?
Looking at his response [so far, anyway], I think he doesn't have a clue what your post actually meant nor does he seem to understand that your two questions at the end undermine him ~ and his strange straw man OP ~ IF he ignores them.

BDP was spot-on. There's no reason for me to complain, and, I didn't. Just made an observation that the intended people will understand completely.

BDP correctly pointed out that Person B looked like a complete idiot in the hypothetical. That was intended, for the sake of realism.

Let's just say that I find his avatar to be well-chosen for the persona displayed.

But you asserting this simply does not address the questions that BigDoggProblem has asked: "I don't see that you have anything to complain about... So what's the problem? Was it that you couldn't change Person B despite this massive win in argumentation?"

Surely you didn't fabricate a daft straw man dialogue ~ that bears no relation to any discussion I've seen you have ~ so that you could insult your fictitious "Person B"?

Surely you've not started a thread to do THAT, while at the same time posing - it would seem - as some kind of ombudsman for forum standards and poster maturity/integrity?

Surely not?

If you really think that anything about your OP was "for the sake of realism", when it looks like nothing other than an elaborate straw man, why not quote a real "RHP SF discussion" and point to the bits you think are "typical"?

Person B is, like you said, just a daft straw man. Why are you so overly concerned about a daft, miserable, fictitious idiot that was just conjured up out of thin air? Do you empathize with the plight of this hypothetical loser?

I don't see how the OP describes "a typical RHP SF discussion", which is quite clearly what you are claiming with this thread. Do you have any examples of discussions here that substantiate the idea that your made-up dialogue represents "realism"?

Of course you allege not to get it. I wouldn't have expected anything less. I can't decide which is worse. You (in some fit of stubborn denial) falsely claiming you don't get it, or, you literally not getting it. Pick a scenario but either way, I'm sure it's a bitter pill to swallow.

I am not claiming "not to get it".

I "get" what you are trying to do. It's no mystery at all.

What I am asking you to do is to provide any examples of conversations you have been in that back up your claim that the dialogue in your OP is similar in any meaningful way to "a typical RHP SF discussion".

I have not said I "don't get" your OP. It is so cartoonish; you haven't even tried to disguise its straw man purpose.

The logical fallacies you are employing are piling up.

This one is about as clumsy a false dichotomy as one might ever come across.

Not sure what you mean about the PM thing. Maybe you can post the PM and refresh my memory? I think it's fair to say anyone with the slightest experience posting in the SF will easily understand the hypothetical about the disgraced, pathetic Person B. Good thing Person B is fictitious, bearing no resemblance to anyone here because... who would want to be that guy, am I right?

But you are on to something. There are definitely less people posting in the SF than before! I wonder why that is? I mean, it's a message forum that allows people of all faiths to reason together and exchange information and ideas. It's a place to learn. I mean, who wouldn't want to post here. I looked through a few dozen threads and the sheer volume of helpful information was overwhelming. The intriguing subject matter; the enormous depth and complexity of the posts; and especially the mutual respect and kindness. I nearly shed a joyful tear. I'm so glad it's not like the old days... what... a decade or so ago... when every thread turned into an all out flame-war pissing match. So. Seeing that things have vastly improved, I do wonder why hardly anyone posts in the SF anymore. Seems like just a couple of people--who've been here the last 12 to 15 years--are the only ones left? Why would everyone else just up and leave the SF and post in other forums instead? Sooooo weird.
