There was a "no name change unless real-world name was used" policy.
Now, yes, you can change your name, but there are conditions, and your old name is visible for 30 days, so you can't just pretend to just be a new user with a new name.

I'm not sure you need a name change for the reason stated though, although it is entirely your choice.
