I play both and chess is infinitely more complicated and demanding. I take it they're not very good chess players? It's not just a case of learning the moves.

I knew a 2300 OTB player that totally gave up chess for bridge. He said it was more challenging......matter of personal opinion, I guess.

Wether Bridge or Chess is the most braindemanding, I would answer neither.

Game of Go is.

Less rules but more moves to choose from. More intricate positions, complex combinations and so on.
No game beats Game of Go in view of brains.

But it is much easier to find people who you can play with in chess.
