This thread is less offensive than those in debate and religion forums, and much more beneficial to humanity (or, Me). Why on earth would someone be banned for talking about sex? Which moron(s) in this place (aside from the rude one) considers sex talk more offensive than political talk, religious talk, or calculus? Everyone has (or should have, or will be having) sex.
Well, that last sentence isn't true. But I don't see a reason why those posts should be moderated either, even though I personally find some of it somewhat repulsive. Then again, I don't see a reason why you can't discuss the etymology of "bad words" either. The moderators' idea of what's offensive seems to differ quite a lot from mine (so much so that one of my bans came as a complete surprise; the other two came as a surprise, too, but at least I had some idea what they might be about).

Of course he thinks it's frickin' appropriate! He wouldn't be arguing his case otherwise, you moron!

Anyhoo, why don't you head over to the Debates or Spirituality forums? There's plenty of threads in there about guns, terrorism, violence, religion, crime and other topics you might find anit-social. All of them could potentially end up causing detrimen ...[text shortened]... al effects on people. You can harrass the posters there with you zealous pc antics as well!
Second that.

I'm not encouraging anyone to do something they may later regret. On the contrary. By talking about it, letting it sink in, I think it gives everyone a chance to decide for themselves whether it's really something they'd be interested in trying (with someone they trust and feel attracted to - or, if it's a single act, on their own).

Teenagers are sometimes really confused about sex. What they know, they learn from internet porno and immature remarks from kids their own age. To talk about it in a mature way so that they can read it is actually a good thing. They can see that sex is actually very nice (if it's with the right person(s)) and there is absolutely no rush having sex. I know a woman who's 28 years now, and still hasn't felt the need to copulate with a man. She's attracted to men, but she hasn't met anyone whom she'd like to have sex with (although I suspect her newfound love may be the one - they seem very right for each other). This is absolutely no problem. She has enjoyed her mechanic little friend for years and she's not at all embarrassed talking about it (to my great joy of course - and she knows it the teaser). 😀

I don't see how this could be a negative thing. ?

Okay, you're right, I suppose Nuns and Priests and the like should probably not be poking around in each others' habits and smocks, and prisoners should not be allowed to indulge in partnered sex, but other than that who should not have, or will not be having, sex, (oh God, don't let me forget to also include the obvious other group of people who through whatever tragic means have lost (or never had) the ability to scrump).

What, Nordlys, were you banned for? Discussing origins of cuss words?

Well, so did I. Could it be that the moderators are finally softening a little? I don't want to get my hopes up too much or I'll be dissapointed. I gotta get up early tomorrow so I'll have to end for tonight. I'm sure when I login tomorrow this whole discussion will be gone. 🙁 I hope not, cause I don't think I've said anything provocative.

Asexual people don't have a sex drive, at least not for sex with others (sometimes the word includes people who masturbate, sometimes it doesn't).

I didn't discuss the origins of cuss words, but I quoted a post containing a link to a page about the origin of a certain cuss word.

Yes, you're right, I forgot to consider people with certaian "conditions" as well.

Amazing that you were banned for that. Maybe there has been a change in moderation personnel/rules?

I wouldn't call it a "condition" anymore than I would call being homosexual a "condition". Sometimes I think I am better off that way.

The rules changed - becoming more strict - some days after I got the ban, and I still can't see which of the old rules I may have violated, and giving a three day ban (which was lifted a bit early) for it seems completely ridiculous. But I won't discuss this further, it was enough of a mess at that time.
