-Removed-I'm sure it's just because NZ, same as AU and some other countries, doesn't want to assume the cost of allowing in aging retirees who might on balance never contribute more than their eventual drain on the national medical system.
Maybe brush up on your Spanish and move somewhere nice where they'd be happy to have a retiree with a pension splashing money about?
