@Ponderable
1. Ghost dog #6, 2. Hollywood ending #4, 3. Stray Cat #7
All were good, tough pickings.
@ponderable saidYou still have some time.
When I deleted the "start voting" post I also removed the due date. We vote two weeks, so voring ends 22nd of July at midnight (RHP Time)
@ghost-of-a-duke saidThey are all very good.
If you haven't voted yet, remember, fail to do so and the Ghost is coming to haunt you...
(Only several hours remaining).

@ponderable
Just a thought (and I don't want to tell you how to run your competition).
I found it difficult to find time to read all entries, slowly, thoughtfully and critically.
Would it be an idea to have a second round of voting on the top 3?
1. everyone who votes will have a say in who wins.
2. a wider audience gets a second chance to vote.
3. more time to digest the subtleties of the entries
Just a thought!
Good job by the way! :-)
@patzering saidI agree, not this year's competition.
Hell no!
Maybe next year but the rules is the rules.
It wouldn't be fair to the winner.
That would only give second and third place another shot.
Controversy!
Conspiracy!
Constipation!
@patzering saidIt’s not possible to misjudge them, you just vote for the ones you enjoyed reading the most. There are no right or wrong answers and well done for taking the time out.
Definitely a consideration for future competition.
It will give people time to really analyze the stories and the skill.
When I read these stories I was overwhelmed with how many their were and I'm sure I misjudged some of them.

Congratulations to the author of 'Stray Cat' a splendidly well written piece. (And a front runner from the word go).
This year, in light of the high quality of entries, I am perfectly content with taking second place with my entry 'Vincent.' 🙂
(I also wrote the more tongue in cheek 'Are you in there?' which got more votes than I expected).
Look forward to discussing all the entries shortly.
