Maybe some time out will permit him to review his actions in the forums, and come back as not a perpretator of forays and strikes, but a mellowed man who understands that nobody is here to be belittled. Not only was the yard an eye sore, it was against town regulations to have automotive and machines stored in your yard. It was an historic residential area.
The guy was warned several times to clean up. The properties around this junk yard depreciated. More warnings, no action. The town fined him, and he didn't pay the fines. After about a decade of this and several people in the neighborhood selling out at a loss the house was foreclosed on and bulldozed.
Why didn't they just ignore the junk yard? He was an old man, he liked collecting junk!
