It doesn't work. As I have pointed out, it's logically possible that the majority of the population has an intellectual development below average.

I guess it works if you understand average to be the median rather than the mean.

But it's got nothing to do with seven-year-olds, so it's not a fair definition.

You never said the definition had to be fair.

...and anyway we have no clear way of deciding intelligence and I don't think the definition of "idiot" should be tied up so closely with e.g. IQ.

To illustrate both points: I would class as an idiot anyone who ever thought joining Mensa was a good idea.

Thanks. I put it into my head. Now I don't feel so empty-headed anymore.

Nah. My little brother (username: Mr Chimp, big Rams fan) is offering to lend me the money, which is a bit embarrassing. And I still don't know how much it will cost. It does appear to just be the screen, which I guess is good news.

Nigel Clough for next manager? It would make my dad happy, but I'm not convinced...
Do we need a Rams clan?

Screen is more fixable than the entire laptop. 🙂

Nigel Clough wouldn't be a bad choice... I think that's sentiment speaking though, but he hasn't done a bad job at the Albion.

I need to know before lunchtime.

Thanks.
.... mostly they just comfirm it in public posts, starting public threads, and asking questions only an idiot would ask .... only idiots criticize others without substance and without first criticising themselves ....

Since when do I need a good reason to be critical of others? You must be new around here.

known intelligence measurements when graphed lie on a normal distribution (a normal gaussian curve), hence both mean and median are about the same ..... half the population lies above this number and the other half below .....

I know. But a population in which this would not be the case is not logically impossible.

oh of course not ... i am refering to known meausurements and what we normay encounter when we take these human defined measurements.

Yes, but that's not what I was talking about. 🙂
