@moonbus saidIs that you Sonhouse?
There are broadly speaking two groups of people who are drawn to Trump. One sort of people drawn to Trump are evangelicals who recognize full well that Trump himself is not a model of Christian virtue, and some of them even recognize that he actually mocks the Christian religion. Nonetheless, they believe that he is a useful tool, that he is doing God’s work in spite of himse ...[text shortened]... one to blame for their anger and cheated-entitlement; Trump provides it: 'foreigners', 'immigrants.'
Anyway, to your post......just as long as they are drawn. Watch his numbers rise.
@sonhouse saidSonhouse???.......?....everyone wants to know what post you are responding to....Me too!!
@AverageJoe1
You mean the current news of the now infamous mug shot of your god king in a Georgia jail?

@averagejoe1 saidSelling NVIDEA now proves to me you are an idiot. The GOP has zero to do with the AI revolution that is driving the stock market. AI and quantum computing will either move us forward, and hopefully away from the existential threat posed by climate change, or it will destroy humanity, hopefully before humans cause a massive extinction.The GOP is trying to pass legislation that will limit the ability of institutional investors and brokerage firms from putting money into green industry.
You missed the train, I would be upset too.
Have you got NVIDEA? Hope so. I think I will sell today, this run up cannot last.
The GOP used to be the party of abolitionists. It now supports white supremacy. The GOP used to be the party that kept government out of business. That is no longer true ie Disney in Florida.
"It is quite a thing to see leading Republicans—including a former president—in mugshots for their assault on our democracy and to know that party leadership supports their actions. Indeed, it is unprecedented, and for those who remember what a grand party the Republicans have been at times in their history—Lincoln, after all, was a Republican, and so were Theodore Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower—it is a sad end. But an end it is. The authoritarians who have taken over the party have abandoned their history and are now building something altogether different." Heather Cox Richardson
@mchill saidIt's not conservatives that worship Trump. It's a constituency of people angry at the establishment for various perceived grievances, mostly having to do with outsourcing their jobs and villianizing their culture.
Donald J Trump's long history is stark. - Why do Conservatives worship this man?
Why? It's simple.
Trump is the one politician who is willing to stick his middle finger out at the establishment and say F you to the powers that have chipped away and made a mockery of their lifestyle for the last several decades.
Michael Moore's clip from right before the 2016 election is still the best answer for Trumpism for when the historians come calling.
Moore focuses on economics, but it's cultural just as much. (Like many liberals, Moore can't wrap his mind around the fact that Joe Blo conservatives really do care about cultural and moral issues.)
I'm not defending Trump. I can't stand the guy and nothing would please me more than seeing him take his retirement and leave us alone. But the phenomenon of Trump is not that hard to explan. Pithy elitist bromides like "People like Trump because they're racist" may do for Internet message boards and MSNBC round tables, but serious people should seek serious answers to questions and Moore's clip is as close as I can get to the real answer.
@mchill saidFor the same reason democrats worshiped JFK and Bill Clinton after their philandering affairs. For partisan reasons.

The indictments are just increasing his support. The first one showed a clear bump in poll numbers for Trump. So they did a second round of indictments. Another increase in poll numbers.
Do you honestly think a 3rd round of indictments was expected to be any different?
Trump is not anti establishment. The establishment is helping him get a second term with these indictments while pretending they hate him and it has republicans fooled. They think he is against the establishment. It is working like a charm.
They are playing you at the same time. You are unwittingly helping Trump get a second term by fighting against him. 3 poll number bumps from each 3 indictments in a row? Do you really think that was an accident? Believe me, they pay very close attention to poll numbers after each indictment. The establishment wants Trump to get another term. That was the plan all along.
@sh76 saidThese excuses may have worked in 2016 when much less was known about Trump but how do you explain his popularity with conservatives 4 years later? Trump's policies have proven he *is* the establishment, like when his massive tax breaks mostly benefitting the rich.

As far as calling Trump supporters racist, there's a reason why he's so popular with white supremacists, more so than any other president in modern history.
@wildgrass saidpopular with WHO?
Not as many as you'd think from this forum or the loudest internet voices.
Consider his approval rating when he left office was just 34%
Contrast that with several Republican governors in Blue states, including Maryland that went for Biden 65% but has a Republican governor who also has a 69% approval rating. Or Massachussets with a Republican governor with a 68% appro ...[text shortened]... n is why the Republican party does not ditch Trump in favor of candidates who are much more popular?

Here is a good example of how the dumb are so easily lead by democrat lies.
As you state above what Trump did, my question, what has biden done to change that?
@mott-the-hoople saidNothing. They are both puppets of the establishment.

Nothing. They are both puppets of the establishment.
@mott-the-hoople saidObama continued the Bush tax breaks. Trump continued those mostly and so did Biden. Most of those tax breaks went to the wealthy.
yet these libs cant see this. They somehow ignore that Trumps tax breaks went to average Americans too.
After the next election nothing will change then either. You will have a choice between puppets of the establishment as always.
@phranny saidI will give you a hint on NVDA.,,( the rest of your post is classic Sonhouse, you are a guru too, are you??)

I didn’t tell you that I bought X number of shares early on for $180. Secondly, you know it will drop, but if it doesn’t, I will already have reinvested in upstart AI companies, actually today at 9:31.AI is the future, but you don’t sit on NVDA with all this action going on. You gonna sit there? You still sittin on Disney??
@mott-the-hoople saidBiden has been trying to pass policies that benefit regularly people instead of just the rich.

For example: student loan forgiveness, which Republicans blocked him *twice* from enacting. See also Biden's "Build Back Better" act.
@sh76 saidWhen you said ‘perceived grievances’ above you lost a lot of readers past that point, as there is no perception involved with these grievances, being actual fact.

I did see below that, a reference to Race, meaning god-knows-what, but again, when you liberal little fellows actually call that famous new song about ‘Rich Men Richmond’ racist, you once again lose readers.
Your post sucks , no offense. 😞
@vivify saidMarx was a ‘regular people’ guy himself, his eyes set on the rich. OK, I’ll bite. Biden is like Marx. So what is your point?
Biden has been trying to pass policies that benefit regularly people instead of just the rich.

Is it to go where the money is? That’s what a bank robber would tell you.
Insipid stuff. Zzzzzzz
