@earl-of-trumps saidFor all the doomsday folk out there paralyzed by negative news, I'll offer some hope. Sports has been through many iterations of this throughout history. Nearly 50 years ago a trans female was competing in female tennis, leading to a whole host of rules changes. Back in the day we thought it was funny, making Rodney Dangerfield movies about girls soccer (was it called ladybugs?)
Male Powerlifting Coach Breaks Women’s Record to Protest ‘Trans Inclusion Policy
[i]Avi Silverberg, head coach for Team Canada Powerlifting, “self-identified” as a woman and broke the provincial record in Alberta, Canada, for women’s bench press in the heaviest weight class to protest the growing penetration of men competing in women’s sports via “transgender ...[text shortened]... ports/2023/03/29/report-male-powerlifting-coach-breaks-womens-record-protest-trans-inclusion-policy/
Sports are constantly adjusting their rules to address cheating and entertainment value in many different forms. The athletes can choose whether or not they want to participate based on the rules proposed by different leagues. They are many many restrictions / classes based on body types, sex, hormone levels, red blood cells counts, age, weight, PEDs.
Let them figure this out. Beware the politician who claims to have the ability to fix this, or any other issue that is cultural in origin. Government solutions will not work.
@wildgrass saidThe facts aren’t cultural. Please do more research and take your self perceived opinions from no experience, scientific knowledge or common sense knowledge on the subject.

The post that was quoted here has been removedShav says, if I get this, right, that people who are men can have some operations, and then with that same body compete against women. They may call themselves a trans or a woman, or a little girl or a large girl or an LLGBQ or a porcupine, but hey everybody, the creature is not a girl, not a woman. No matter what he calls himself. So anyway, Shav says we are stupid for thinking like this.
Who agreed with our trash mouth?🤮
@wildgrass saidBut what is there to figure out. My daughter is a born and bred unquestionable woman. No asterisks about her. How can there be an agreement or rule to make her compete with someone who is not a woman? How can any discussion go beyond what I have just typed?

@sh76 saidMy answer is simple. I don’t think there should be any laws about anything that would refer to someone as someone other than a man or a woman. There are no other distinctions. I just hate it. They can carve themselves up and prince around and grow their hair long, but they are what they were when they were born. So no need to change any laws or rules. I just hate it for them. But they made their own bed. Zahlanzi said they are “not in your face”! Really??
===I disagree with trans women competing against cis women even though I fully support trans rights. ===
Okay, let's dissect that for a moment.
What "trans right" to do you support that is currently at risk, if any?
As far as I can tell, there are basically three "trans rights" that are being fought over now:
1. The right of trans women to complete in women's sports ...[text shortened]... and including surgeries.
So you're on record as not supporting number 1. Do you support 2 and 3?
@sh76 saidOh come on. You want government to ban this in sports? Great. Now you've got some bureaucratic stooge being paid twice what he's worth to smoke cigs in a car for 7 hours of the day and then run some cheek swabs for an infinitesimally small possibility that a girls really a boy at birth that might disadvantage someone else?
What's to figure out? People born with Y chromosomes have an unfair advantage in sporting events when competing against those not born with Y chromosomes and they should be banned from women's sporting events. Period. Full stop.
What's to figure out?
Or we could let the sports leagues work it out.
@wildgrass saidGovernment? No way.

I'm also talking about what the leagues should do.

Part of the purpose of this thread is to highlight just how easy it is for a guy to compete with the women.
The women's record had been broken by a transwoman (a guy) and this so angered the male powerlifting coach
that he decided to break that record set by the transwoman. And all he had to do was say, "I'M A WOMAN NOW".
He was trying to prove what a joke it was, not really to set a record. it worked, IMO,
There is no such thing as scientific proof that a self-declared transwoman actually is a woman.
@earl-of-trumps saidYeah there is. Sports will adjust. This guy was annoyed because he's never been great at his own sport.
