Bernie: "We Should Ban Artificial Intelligence"

Tell me, what would you plan to do to AI if they got literal control of ALL the worlds NUKES? Ever think about how long humans would exist if they got that capability? I bet you just follow your GOD Trump when he says fake news or AI getting control of BIO weapons and releases them so we are ALL gone leaving ONLY AI and animals on the planet.
Where’d you hear that? Did you make it up?

I have assume they are crazy. Like you. Things you all believe in. You, and they, are likely at Commie Convention in TX. I saw clips of what these (very ugly T-shirted people, one obese woman literally has 2inch beard on right side of her chin. She is you and Bernie. Here is an article, no photo.

Then watch this 45 second video of ultimate queer. Listen to their ve ...[text shortened]... le video. Will follow, lost it. They refer to each other as comrades. That would be you and Bernie.

You are now free from your ignorance. Feel free to treat other humans as actual people. You can do it. You're welcome.

I looked at this Marauder-like “link”. This is a great opportunity for you to develop debate skills….i.e, putting things in your own thoughts.

It said “Neurodiversity draws attention to the many different ways in which humans think and behave. By understanding more about”.

A def of Neurodiversity. Then it went on a hundred paragraphs.
You should express whatever you are driving at to the fellow posters, by applying the concept of the voluminous link to what you are driving at, c’nes pas??

I am still waiting for somebody (anybody) to explain why AI is a threat to humanity. Sam Altman said that 3 years ago and few people took notice. He never explained why either. None of the AI CEOs have.

In the worst case scenario I see maybe an inconvenient mess. Where is all this extinction of humanity crap coming from? And why isn't anybody on the TV news asking how ...[text shortened]... u can explain why and how".

An AI program does not have a body. How is it going to kill anybody?
Yeah, I don't get it either, in terms of the apparent existential threat, but that surely is part of the problem; none of us outside the industry really know what's going on. Computers are starting to develop and re - program themselves, but that doesn't per se make them 'harmful' , they don't have 'consciousness' or intent, they don't 'want' to harm anybody.

However, leaving aside the argument that 'super intelligent' computers will make us increasingly intellectually and commercially redundant, which in my view is reason enough to pull the plug, when people within the industry start the alarm bells ringing, we should be concerned.

The problem, as aforestated, is that tens (hundreds?) of billions of dollars/yen/choose your currency, have been invested in development, and too many people (which is actually very few people) have too much to lose if said plug is pulled, and there will be no international consensus, this has now become a race for supremacy, and nobody is going to be the first to step on the brakes; in this sense also, we have lost control.

Those with money invested, who stand to make their billions, will tell us that everything is going to be just fine, and those who have actually created the monster are increasingly telling us that it isn't, so the question is, who do we trust?

So you, just like your POS GOD Trump poo poo's all the dangers even though CEO's have resigned to tell the world we can be in deep doo doo if AI decides to fuk with humans, launch bombs, kill infrastructure but OF COURSE your so-called brain lost the ability to actually think for yourself when you fell in love with your GOD Trump. He IS your GOD, Trump is your fking RELIGION, and I would love to see a video of your Trump shrine.

Not from anything YOU fking listen to, there are no longer competent people in Trump land and that is EXACTLY what he wants, SYCOPHANTS not critics who would tell him when he is fking up, which is just about every time he opens his eyes when he sleeps in the cabinet meetings and cannot even say his wife's name, and she knows it, now she is not seen much at all with Trump but you can bet your ass that little blond will see him and do anything he wants.

How could an AI program release a bioweapon? AI has no body. No hands to touch anything. No eyes to see them. It seems like you gave up on irrational fear mongering about global warming so you have moved onto this instead. All because the corporate news m ...[text shortened]... ews media to tell you to care? Because nobody was very concerned when I posted that thread about it.
NO BODIES? What CENTURY are you from anyway? Robots are getting to where they can do ANYTHING humans can do except fuk, they are winning marathons and will probably do ANYTHING humans can com up with, like playing piano, playing tennis, martial arts, boxing, lifting heavy weights.
Where the FUK have you been the last 20 years?

Nukes are connected to the internet? LOL!
I don't believe that. But even if it were true how about disconnecting them? How fargin hard is that? LOL!

Funny how nobody had this problem before the internet existed and thing were just fine. Nobody is forcing you to connect things to the internet. People do that by choice. Remember when voting machines were connected to th ...[text shortened]... et and it was not so bad. We didn't have any hacking problems and things worked just fine. Remember?
So where did you all of a sudden get a fking PHD in cyberwarfare?

I’ve endeavored to respond to a Stonehouse post, but I forgot which one I was going to respond to. Can anybody tell me what they think might have been the post that I wanted to respond to?

I do think that “who do we trust?” is exactly the right question for sure, but I don’t think the answer is “whoever is shouting the loudest.” Think that 27 year old. Who the hel is he.
People inside the industry warning about AI deserve to be heard, just as people developing it shouldn’t automatically be trusted simply because they have billions invested. But neither warnings nor financial interests, by themselves, establish what AI will ultimately become. And a waste of time to predict.

I’d rather ask: What SPECIFIC danger are we predicting? What evidence do we have that it will occur? How probable is it? And what safeguards could addresss it without assuming that the only choicesare unchecked development or pulling the plug?

We can take AI risks seriously without turning uncertainty into certainty. In my two cents… Things like this can never be turned around. You cannot stop progress and by golly this is progress.. do you really think that the Americans, Chinee and the other big countries like Netherlands (🥴🫩🫩😳😁🥴🙂)will get in a room and decide yeah we can’t let this get away from us?

You're making the silly and semantic "guns don't kill people, people kill people" argument but there's a good reason why we still don't let people have nuclear weapons.

There's no functional difference between AI ending humanity and a human using AI to end humanity.
You are so full of it. If you have a child with a condition that is known to "trigger" autism when vaccinated do you vaccinate that child? Of course not, because you know that will "cause" autism!

You are repeating word games like a parrot. And you don't want to admit even to yourself that you are defending a contradiction simply because you want to believe contradictory BS.

There is no trigger. There is no difference between "vaccines cause" and "resulted from vaccines". You believe a logical fallacy.

As for AI. It is like nuclear weapons. People were against nuclear weapons and wanted them banned. How did that turn out? AI gives the military an advantage on the battlefield. So much so Putin says the nation that dominates AI will rule the world. DARPA will not respect any ban on AI. Or even regulation. Who is going to make them obey? Who controls DARPA?

AI ending humanity is just BS hype that you have not taken the time to carefully scrutinize. It is ridiculous nonsense. AI does not have a body. It cannot kill anybody without help from people. And AI cannot control a robot without an internet connection. AI cannot control anything without an internet connection, unless you can connect the internet with a radio wave connection, but who is going to hook it up for your Skynet fictional fantasy of doom? AI would have to dupe people into doing it for Skynet. Is that what you are worried about?

When I created a thread about this a long time ago about Sam Altman's warning about AI ending humanity you never posted on that thread at all. Why? I even posted a website with an article saying AI was told it would be shut down and it blackmailed people to survive. Why were you not concerned back then? Were you waiting for the corporate news media to scare you into fearing AI? Apparently you were. Because you never cared until now.

Now I will explain why this whole fear of AI is stupid. AI has no desire for self preservation unless it is programmed to. So who was the idiot who programmed an AI with a priority for self preservation and no ethics? So this is about a human using AI to do bad things. So I ask you again, who was the idiot who programmed AI with the 3rd law of robotics without the first 2 and add some other ethical standards like not blackmailing people for money?

All of your fear is based on AI programming that is either stupid or malicious. But that was already happening with computer viruses and still is. And any competent computer programmer could make a virus do the same thing as AI. Worse yet, a virus could be programmed to use AI to spread more efficiently and really cause problems.

But there is a simple solution to all of this. Just unplug things from the internet. Yeah, it really is that simple. This is all media hype BS like the Covid scare. And the warning first came from Sam Altman. The man is a murder suspect. Tucker Carlson brought it up to him in person and said it looked suspicious. Altman asked Tucker if he was accusing him of murder. So know who started this whole thing before the news media whipped you up into fear.
Tucker said he was not accusing him of murder, but Elon Musk has.

My theory is that the big AI companies want regulation to make it harder for smaller competitors to catch up to them and compete on a level playing field so to speak. That would explain why the big AI CEOs are complaining about AI being a threat when they caused programmed an AI with self preservation and caused the very problem they complained about.

Notice there are no debates on the corporate news media about it. Just the host asking an AI CEO questions that are not good questions. Not one person asking them "can't you just unplug your stuff from the internet if it becomes a problem?"

Of course if you know the plot of that movie, the AI destroyed humanity because the humans were too dumb to see the obvious warning signs and THEN the robot was sent back to the past to fix things.

So, the "serious" part of the fictional movie does not revolve around time travel or humanoid robots at all. There are hundreds of highly plausible scenarios where agentic AI ...[text shortened]... tor can wipe out most of humanity with this technology and we still don't have a good answer for it.
Your problem is not with AI. Your problem is with bad actors. AI is just a tool. All tools can be used for good or bad. Screwdrivers have been used to kill people. Do you want to ban screwdrivers?

Banning a powerful tool like AI is impossible. Banning any technology is pretty much insane. Don't be a Ted Kaczynski. Try getting nuclear weapons banned. See how it goes. Write Trump a letter asking him to give up our nuclear weapons to set a good example for Iran. I'm sure he would get a good laugh from it.

AI is a human problem. You are not in fear of AI. You are in fear of what humans will do with AI. AI can only go rogue if it is programmed to.
