Clans

@Trev,

Sorry for butting in:

If Metallica Clan Leader retires and I didn't see where it was a sure thing he would, I just "may be doing the same". Then you guys will be pretty much free to do as you please with no resistance.

Again, you guys may want to have a look at having a separate rating for Clan Challenges which is the only way it would work. I believe Russ ...[text shortened]... At least you and Bish can be talked to. Hard to talk to someone who THINKS he knows it all.

This sounds like a prelude to yet another dramatic ultimatum.

You're just tired of people putting you on the spot and asking you to give an honest opinion.

If some clans are refusing to play 'your clan' as you've alleged, why do you think this is the case? - You don't need to be a clan leader to answer this.

@Ghost,

No sir, just tired of your silly questions that are childish like in manner.

Your false accustations just go on and on endlessly.

I don't profess to know the reasons any of them choose.
I have my opinions, but they are my opinions, therefore not relevant.
Some may feel they don't measure up.
Some may feel I am the anti-Christ.
Some clans just don't match up well.
Who knows? I can't waste much time thinking about it.
Here's my take on it:

I'll give you a couple of scenarios: (Rusty has hidden from them)

1. Two clans play each other, from time to time. There is no rush to complete the challenges which are fairly well matched and where all games, out of respect for each other, are always played to conclusion. (Never ended early to hurry the end of the challenge). Top priority is enjoyment of chess with a healthy desire to win the challenge.

2. Two clans play each other, one of the two always in a rush to complete the challenge and start another. Pairing often feel lobsided and games readily abandoned in challenges that are perceived as pointless to continue in. One of the clans begins to feel they are just there to serve the other. (Like on a conveyor belt).

Chew on that.

The question is not silly and is on topic.

If some clans are refusing to play 'your clan' as you've alleged, why do you think this is the case? - You don't need to be a clan leader to answer this.

I'll bake you a retirement cake.

@Ghost,

Yea, they are silly questions. How the hell I am to know or my clan leader for that matter? Don't be so silly you sound like a child to me.

Most likely reasons:

Lobsided challenges
A rush to end a challenge and start a new one
Treating other clans like commodities
Disrespecting opposing clans by resigning games prematurely
Turning the clan feature into an industrial conveyer belt
Damaging the clan feature by an obsessive pursuit of quantity over quality

I can think of others.....

@Ghost Wrong,

He said about waning away from the Clan Challenges. I wish at some point you would get it right.

If he stops being a Clan Leader which he hinted at but not a for sure thing, I just may do the same. "MAY" is the keyeword here which you just jumped right over.

IF you never conversed with me again it wouldn't be soon enough!!

I quoted your post exactly as you posted it. - You said if he retired you may do the same. - Here it is again:

"If Metallica Clan Leader retires and I didn't see where it was a sure thing he would, I just "may be doing the same".

I think you should take a break from the site.

@Ghost,

Take some of your own advice!

All you do is cause Trouble!

Do you think that makes you a big man, no it makes you small man.

He is retiring from work you silly man, not the chess site, just waning away possibly fron the Clan feature. You just can't get it straight then call others out for not getting it right.

I've been retired for many years now, haven't you caught on yet???

I have negotiated many challenges in my time. I suspect as many as anyone.
For me to have successfully negotiated that many challenges (won or lost) must speak to my credibility. A negotiation requires two sides, right?
I have walked away from challenges that were ridiculous, and I have never posed a ridiculous challenge.
If your credibility is as good as you say, then it must be a rare occurrence indeed for a clan to refuse to play you. So what's the issue? Why the proposal of making it mandatory to do so?

As for the last part, a clan leader has already said this is not the case.

My credibility may be a hell of a lot better than the Clan Leader you speak of, you are always trying to get somone else in on your silly arguments.

I wash my hands of you and hope all the filth get off.
