It is always suspicious when someone in a Clan starts their own Clan. There is a reason for everything done. I just want you to know I am going to be watching closely. My world will not come to an end if you don't consider me a chess friend.
I am retired now, so have lots of spare time to watch what is happening on this Site. I love a Challenge but not when Clans gang up on an other Clan which has been tried before not mentioning any names, and a stop was put to it abruptly.
If you are sincerely making another clan to compete against everyone and not to do anything underhanded then Kudo's to you and Good Luck.

We can change the rules as we see fit - there does not have to be programming changes. We can just decide on some things.
Yes it would be great if there was a clan rating. We are all 100% agreement in that. Let's leave that alone and talk about what we can do.

I'm not a clan leader but I don't agree with this Bish
You would be punishing active clan leaders for their hard work in mounting challenges.
A clan that play a lot of challenges will always accrue more points than those who only play a few.
That doesn't mean they are the most successful clans.
The only way to measure a clans success is challenges played/challenges won.

Of course one can be in 4 clans and be leader of one, that is not an issue here.
The thing I am suspicious about is you and Bish were talking about beating Breaking Bad, and he starts up a clan. Call me paranoid if you wish my old friend, but the optics don't look good. I will tell you with all due respect, I will be watching what is going on very closely as I have lots of time to do so being retired.
I hope all is on the up and up and have given him kudo's and wished him luck if he is really competing. Competition is good for the Clan Challenges as well as the Site!

I have already told people it doesn't mean we are the best clan because we won 1rst place. It means we were the hardest working clan. Playing more challenges than anyone else. As you know it is not an easy thing to do, and you win your little battles and also lose little battles along the way. The more a Clan plays it is just common sense the more chances of winning.
You can see our stats for yourself so you know, we won more, lost more, and drew more than any other Clan, which was just hard work by everyone and our Clan Leader making all the challenges. I believe you are someone who knows the work that goes into running a Clan. I believe Michael does and excellent job and puts in many hours, other Clan Leaders don't.
I might add we came back from a 400 point deficit, which was an up hill battle!

I don't disagree with any of this.
However, as we are having an open discussion - I think we should look at, evaluate, and respect some other ideas. There is no one correct answer.
1. I cannot think of any competition or table where all the participants don't play the same number of games or matches in a season. In our case the season is a calendar year. Not one.
2. It makes is sound like the competition is based on work-rate and time put in - not chess. I have a new clan for 2025. It sounds like unless I am willing to spend 40 hours a week managing it - I have no chance of winning this year's competition.
And maybe that is all fine. Maybe that is what the clan leaders want and we should make zero changes.
I keep hearing we want to to grow the system. How are we going to grow the system?

I don't think your fully understand what was going on with Anglican, he was let go for a reason by the Site Administrator. It actually took 6 months for a decision to be made on it.

Before I start, I would like to know if I just read that wrong.
@A-Unique-Nickname saidI believe the only clan that will beat us this year will be Metallica as they have possibly the best clan. Not sure if they are better than us yet. But they certainly could be. So worse place we finish is second. We, Breaking Bad Clan won two out of the last three years. But I will say good luck in not just beating us, but beating everyone and winning the championship. Good luck to Bish as well. Still waiting on the integrity comments. For now, we will enjoy the 2024 Championship.
