The Arab population, indigenous to the Arabian peninsula, are themselves very like a colonial population. These “Russian and Polish settlers” as you call them do not primarily use Slavic languages, they are not Christian (I’d expect a colony of such people to be Catholic or Orthodox Christian) and they weren’t sent by Russia or Poland. They in no way fit the description of a colonial population.

In other words, you seem to suggest Israel is a, how do you say, "colony" of the British Empire as opposed to an independent country declaring independence on ethnic nationalist grounds.

With any politician you have to take the good with the bad. Some of Trump's policies were stupid. If you want real budget hawks you'll have to look to the hardliner conservatives in the House, but you probably hate those guys. Can you honestly not see anything in the guy that's appealing?

Well when a deer rammed into my old car my insurance gave me a 3K check so I was able to get another one. Otherwise it would have been up to me.
I don't think insurance should be mandatory but there are cases of folks getting their cars destroyed by another uninsured driver and getting totally screwed as a result.

The legally required insurance won’t help with that. You’re only required to have liability i.e. so you can pay for damage you cause to others.

It can't be "land in Palestine" because there was never an independent country called Palestine. If you mean all land, even empty land, that belonged to Jordan or Egypt before the '67 war, then if Jordan and Egypt don't want it, why should Israel not build on it?

Before 1776 there was no independent nation state called America but America was still a well defined country. Not a State or a Nation but it was a Country i.e. a physical location.

I think it's an appropriate descriptor. But then I think Taiwan is a 'country' and not a 'wayward province.'
