Should the Houston Astros Forfeit the 2017 World Series for Cheating?

you have fans of this game, fans that pay the big bucks to make the big salaries and big profits possible, that won't stand for their team being stripped of players for 6 months and seeing **and paying for** low paid minor league players but with big ticket prices to the consumer.

'taint gonna make it. Fans just won't go. And to the league, surviving is their #1 priority. It's a dilemma.

Heavy heavy fines is all I see coming out of this.

Many teams have stolen signals from the bullpen , some even have used binoculars .
Been going on for decades .

Ya, what some people don't understand is, it is _legal_ to steal signals in baseball. But not legal when using electronics as a necessary aid.

From statements I have read in the news by former red sox players, the sox have nothing to worry about. There was no cheating in 2018. People assume that when the red sox let the manager go, who was the bench coach of the 2017 Astros, that he instituted the same system in Boston. He did not. He was let go because he is sure to get a one year suspension from the league for his actions in Houston.

Funny, one of the ex-players said "We only stole second to home". Well, shoot, everyone does that. You get a runner on second, and he can see quite easily what the catcher's signal is. And all teams know that.

So we move on.

That negative view, that a lack of integrity and honor in sports will prevail, seems fanciful.

A professional sport has too much to lose if fans abandon their faith in it's product.

Are we sure the fans faith in it's product has not already been lost. Remember a guy called Pete Rose?

Rose was arrested for tax evasion when he failed to pay taxes on income he gathered from selling autographs, memorabilia, and horse racing. He served a short stint in prison, and soon paid the $300,000-plus he owed to the government.

Rose also had a gambling problem. He allegedly bet on baseball while he was managing the Cincinnati Reds. This goes back many, many years!

Then came the truth.

In his autobiography Rose admitted to betting on baseball; however, he said he only bet for the Reds to win.

Baseball has a tarnished past, no doubt about that!

- Shoeless Joe Jackson
- Lance Armstrong
- Ben Johnson
- John Calipari
- Shawn Merriman
- Ryan Lochte and Sun Yang
- Danny Almonte etc., etc., etc.

Joe Jackson was the player who didn't cheat. It was his Chicago White Sox teammates.
