Unbelievable. They might as well just throw their bibles away.
Fourth, let’s properly understand the doctrinal weight of this letter by recalling the theological doctrine of the “hierarchy of truths,” which states that not all teachings of the Church have the same importance. Decrees of Ecumenical Councils or infallible teachings of the Popes are on a much higher level than letters published by individual Vatican Congregations. This does not mean that we should ignore the “directives” in this letter; but we should also be careful not to overreact. The letter does not forbid Catholics ever from reading, using, or speaking the name of God in the form “Yahweh,” but is mostly addressing “liturgical usage.”
So, what will be the effect of this letter? Publishers of Catholic hymnals will in future editions either omit songs that explicitly include the name “Yahweh,” or the composers of those songs may be able to adapt the wording. People who write prayers for use in the liturgy (esp. Prayers of the Faithful) should avoid using “Yahweh,” using “the Lord” or “God” instead. But we certainly do not have to destroy or burn our copies of the JB or NJB, and we may without qualm continue using these very good and beautiful translations for personal reading or even small-group prayer.

Or the math debate, how many angles can you fit on the end of a pin.
Or how many checkmates you can end on a pin.

I like that, especially a check, where the only piece/pawn that could remove the check, is pinned against the King. Do you thing there is a recorded example? I can imagine a knight delivering smothered mate with there being a pawn unable to take the knight because of a rook pin.

What is the meaning of the name of Jehovah?

I never have really understood it, except as a payoff to my grandad James.

Why so "unbelieveable"; do you think dropping the name of Yahweh is the biggest issue this religious organisation has?
Its the biggest issue of our time!

The personal name of God. (Isa 42:8; 54:5) Though Scripturally designated by such descriptive titles as “God,” “Sovereign Lord,” “Creator,” “Father,” “the Almighty,” and “the Most High,” his personality and attributes—who and what he is—are fully summed up and expressed only in this personal name.—Ps 83:18.

Originally posted by Bosse de NageThe Hebrew name for God translitered to English is YHVH or YHWH and the Hebrew language has no written vowels so we must supply them. Now, it is most commonly written Yahweh and it means "I AM WHO I AM". God went on to tell Moses to use the shortened form Yah (I AM) as His name. It is used in the word HalleluYah meaning "Praise Yah" which is usually transtaled "Praise the Lord" or "Praise God".
