@galveston75 saidThere was obviously a change after the flood.
I know some here do not believe much of the bible so I'm sure this will bring out lots of "that's stupid" responses. But what's new.
I asked earlier about why many have doubt in a God that would create a planet that kills so many humans yearly with earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, etc.
Why the crazy temp extremes because so much of the earth is not usable? Really ...[text shortened]... d that have both before the flood and after the flood? Just seeing what thoughts come from this.....
This can be seen in the text when it says before the flood men lived close to a thousand years but after the flood men did not live much past 100 years.
Whether you believe this or not the text it trying to covey the notion that the environment became much harsher. For me, the point is clear, which is the sinfulness of man caused God to shorten the life span of men via environmental changes so that the pre-flood levels of wickedness could not be reached again.
It would be like letting Hitler live a thousand years.. He only lived about 50 years and see the destruction he caused?
@fmf saidReally? OK let's see. More then one tad for sure, maybe like 3 or 4.
How much is a "tad more"?
@whodey saidYes I do believe that. Jehovah did shorten mans life span and as you mentioned it's not a bad thing considering what damage man could do if we lived much longer.

@caissad4 saidLol. I'm still waiting for you to answer a few questions I asked which you're obviously not going too and that is because you can't. But it's OK, don't worry because no one else has ever answered them either. That's why it's called a "theory", right?
Seems the way Christians are on this forum.
@galveston75 saidThere is, of course, no evidence of a 'great flood' and indeed evidence to the contrary.

That is your first problem.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidActually if one were to purposely look for those clues such as with the Grand Canyon and really look at the evidence, it's there.

I posted this at the beginning. Maybe take a look at it?
@galveston75 saidUV is blocked by the ozone layer. I'm curious as to why you think the bible supports the idea that there was considerably more cloud before the flood compared with after it. I never got that impression from Genesis.
Have you heard of skin cancer?

Now to answer you question. Go back and look at the scriptures again that explain this.
Gen 1:2 says: 2 Now the earth was formless and desolate, and there was darkness upon the ((((( surface of the watery deep, and God’s active force was moving about over the surface of the waters.))))))
So this says the earth was covered with water. And it says the earth was "formless" or no land features because non was showing yet.
Now this,
Gen 1: 6-8:
6 Then God said: “Let there be (((((an expanse between the waters, and let there be a division between the waters and the waters. 7 Then God went on to make the expanse and divided the waters beneath the expanse from the waters above the expanse.))))) And it was so. 8 God called the expanse Heaven.
So sometime later Jehovah divided that water that's on the earth into two parts. By the wording here it suggest that half or something around that amount of the water on earth was now moved to the upper atmosphere which from mans viewpoint would have had the appearance of very thick clouds and ones that would cover the entire earth.
@galveston75 saidWhat? No one has answers for just these two links? Is this starting to show a little to much proof that you guys are asking for to prove that God does exist and did indeed cause the flood?

More evidence of the flood and how it changed the world.
@galveston75 saidI think there's probably atmospheric physics problems with that picture.
