Christ said that his kingdom was not of this world, nor could be.
The god of this world is at the heart of the state. The death and destruction of the state is unprecedented.

@fmf saidNot sure what you are asking? Those in authority don't turn a nation into a Christian
What's your take on Romans 13 as it applies to this?
@fmf saidThis isn't true and we have been over why this is the case...
The majority of American Christians voted for and got the Christian president they wanted in 2016.
@philokalia saidThe majority of American Christians voted for Trump. He was their choice. He is now the president.

@philokalia saidThe majority of American Christians either voted for Trump or for Clinton or they abstained.
The most conservative Christians all either spoke out in opposition (Dr. Albert Mohler, Dean of the SBC seminary; Michael Brown, a prominent Baptist podcaster & Minister) or they endorsed Pres. Trump with many, many caveats (Fr. Josiah Trenham, Fr. Mitch Pacwa, James White).
I am unaware of reputable conservative Christians that gave some unqualified endorsement of Pres. Trump as the "Christian" president.
I say this as a conservative Christian, and an American.
@philokalia saidIs this a 'debating point'?
You heap up this opposition as, what, an atheist Briton? Sorry, you may not be British, I am not sure, but I was under that impression for some reason.
@philokalia saidAs a conservative American Christian, you presumably believe that the power that Trump wields is ordained by God and that he was placed there in government by God.

@kellyjay saidWhy do you think "it doesn't apply"?
It doesn't apply if you think it does share how.
@fmf saidOne has nothing to do with the other. You driving at something if you think they are

@fmf saidAll leaders are appointed that doesn’t make them good or Christian.
