It arrives at last the 13th Baktun.
The Mayans tell us the world is done.
Bid your friends a last goodbye,
fall on your knees and look to the sky.

Mend your fences, forgive the sin,
hope for the future, consigned to the bin.
What good works have borne their fruit?
As you stand there in your last day suit.

Fire and Brimstone, ash and flood!
Disaster beckons for all flesh and blood.
Storm and hail, fire and ice.
None shall be left neither wicked or nice.

Destruction shall be your legacy now,
like a child standing there your head you bow.
Is there any power to avert this pain?
Are we all to be slain?

But look! Look! The sun rises again,
Despite words written by a Mayan pen.
The sun is warm, the sky is blue.
Another day is here for you.

Religious leaders, they have spoken false,
for all religion is just a merry waltz.
Maybe now you will study hard,
and no longer play the religion card.

Truth and justice lie in education,
not in superstitious religious subjugation.
Learn your lesson, learn it well.
put aside these prophets with superstition to tell.

Proven facts are the only way forward,
not some religious slave with his head lowered.
Educate yourself and avoid all error,
brought to you by religious terror.

You were spared by the Mayans for dubious reasons.

I can guarantee that someone, somewhere in this world, has evidence to say that the Mayans were right. It is not necessarily about 'life on earth', but rather about 'the soul' of Nature.

How would they explain that we are all still alive & well, & sassy as hell?

Given that the Mayans never predicted the end of the world, the Mexican tourist board did, then perhaps you should ask them.

The Mayans, at most, predicted the end of a cycle, and much more likely just could not reliably project their calander any further into the future than circa 140,000 days, so lets stop pretending that the Mayan's are the idiots, it's embarrassing.

It's already started, somewhere in Athens GA at some broken down house in the woods.

The only witnesses - 'a kid and his dog'.

Perhaps the Mayans should have stated a new calander would be started, just to eliminate any confusion?

It appear that the Mexicans were not the only ones predicting the end of the world. So lets not point accusing fingers at them alone.

Needless to say they were ALL WRONG!!! 😛 😉

No VR they were not wrong, they were lying, it was a tourism generating ruse, it is hardly the Mayan's fault that other enterprising charlatans jumped on the band wagon in order to milk the abundant idiot's of the west for as much money as they could.

It is just too ironic that people are laughing at the Mayan's, perhaps they should have predicted that 'a fool and His money are easily parted'

Is doomsday treating you well? Now that the much hyped end of the Mayan Calendar, Dec. 21, 2012, is here, it appears that things are the same as they were on Dec. 20, 2012, and the days before then.

As of Friday morning, the world has failed to implode on itself, but experts say there’s a convenient and logical reason for that---the Maya never predicted a 2012 apocalypse to begin with, according to a Fox News report.

Apparently, doomsday theorists have been prepping for a fiery comet hitting the earth, ice storms destroying our power grids and other heinous catastrophes in vain.

Anthological archeologist Sonja Schwake says there was never evidence that the Maya culture predicted the end of the world on 12/21/12 . In fact, there are Mayan texts that refer to time periods beyond 2012.

She believes the doomsday hysteria grew out of misconstruing the Mayan’s “Long Count” calendar that runs out on the 21 st.

While doomsday preppers spread frightening rhetoric of Planet X crashing through the solar system, zombies rising and earth’s poles shifting, many Mayans interpret today as the end of one cycle and the beginning of another.

NASA was flooded with hundreds of calls over the last few days, and has created a separate webpage, www.nasa.gov/2012 , to help quell the misinformation floating around.

“"They are afraid. They are scared…They believe what they read on the Internet. Even though most respectable news organizations are saying it's not going to happen, they don't want to believe it," NASA spokesman J.D. Harrington told the Houston Chronicle.

On Dec. 20, NASA also released a video dated Dec. 22 titled, “Why the World Didn’t End Yesterday.”

After all, the 800,000 Mayans living in Mexico still seem to be doing the same thing the rest of us are: living their lives.

Maybe it was as far as their calculating abilities would allow them to go with any accuracy, and they had the integrity to stop, maybe they just got bored.

Same calander day and time, coincidence, maybe.
