Yes, I like it. Maybe both are important on an Internet forum.

Ok. Firstly what are “online barriers”?

As I see it these barriers are erected as a defence mechanism to the onslaught of online disinhibition generally experienced in forums such as these at RHP; although it has to be said that in perspective to the rest of the internet, this is a good place. I think.

Nevertheless, we are still a community of relative strangers po ...[text shortened]... gruence, the essence of sincerity, is that oil which stills the troubled waters of online casuality.
My sincerity and ~ I'd say ~ my consistency on the Spirituality Forum has seen me repeatedly labelled as a liar by some people who don't share my views. I think it's important to stick with being sincere even when it is met by people playing the man rather than the ball.

Unlike some people on the internet who revel in pretending to be someone different [to varying degrees] from who they really are, I think a more enjoyable 'empowering' effect of being able to project oneself and one's ideas in debates and discussions online is the opportunity to be absolutely candid and true to oneself.

This is complete bull. At least here on RHP, but there are worse places.

I've posted here sincerely and have been figuratively crucified by trolls.

There have been others in the past who have been stalked by those with questionable motives.

Although it has gotten a bit better than in the past, "sincerity" here does as much for a poster as a fart in the wind.

Perhaps. How could you be honest without being sincere?
That's what she is saying, Andy.

She says she can't tell the difference. Neither can I, really.

According to an on-line dictionary sincere is a synonym of honest. Seems if your one, you can be described as the other as well.

I acknowledge your opinion but I completely disagree that you post here with sincerity.

In fact I would go as far as to say that while you perceive yourself to be sincere I contend that you are without doubt one of the regular posters and main contributors who allows their well meant directives to become highly compromised by an unprincipled partisanship.

My observation here has been put to you maybe a hundred times over the years in the spirituality forum, so you should not now feel obliged to express some level angry astonished aghast.

Perhaps you are confusing sincerity, honesty, with an insincere stroking and niceness.
