No, but if you're eliminating through hints numbers less than 1200 seems to reason that you'd eliminate even numbers too. Who's to say a guess of 1199 wouldn't be "closest to target"?

Plus you do realize GB hasn't really picked a number, he just made the hints to eliminate 70% of the field so they'd post another guess.

My money is on GBS when you give us hint 5 that reverses the previous 4 hints.

NOTICEFollowing list contains nicknames of all RHP Members who competed in the Monty Moose sponsored contest. Many have posted their picks in our follow-on Christmas Contest (with a slightly modified, subscriber and non-subscriber format). Need your help: With a six personal messages per day max I'm unable to contact those individuals who have not yet entered. I'd appreciate your help in giving any who may be members of your clan or club, or personal friends a timely wake up call. I'll update this "Wanted List" later in November to reflect deletions as these folks are found. Thanks. -gb

Laptops serve many useful purposes. Portable toilet isn't one.

Please clarify. With the new limits you set, there would be 1,223 potential choices, not 600. Are you eliminating all even numbers?

NOTICE TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Today four contest hints were disclosed. Gist of it is that the pre-selected winning number hides somewhere between 1,200 and 2,423. It's also an odd number. Net, net there are approximately 600 possible choices (1,201 to 2,423). And, so, all players ae encouraged to review their picks and to revise them for whatever reasons you may deem necessary.

Clarity. Suppose the pre-selected number is 2133 and someone guesses 2134 and no one guesses 2133 or 2132. Is 2134 a winning guess, or not?

Some of us are wondering if you are obsessive-compulsive enough to be running contests like this one. 🙂

"Clues" ???

Do I have to sift through this thread? .....

Oh, heck - I'll stay with 2001.

The whole 'clues' thing just added a bad dimension to this thing, where the brainier posters will have an unfair advantage.

Its all right. The brainier posters are doing something entirely different, like necking with their sweethearts.

Good question, JS, with an obvious answer: Photo Finish / Dead Heat Tie. Both qualify as 1st / 2nd place winners and receive $40.00 each
in the stipulated option they choose. Sorry to disappoint. The illness you allude to is on Monk's Reume, not mine. Thanks for stopping by.

P.S. Please remind Your "Some of us are wondering... " buddies to get their picks in.
