Rumour has it, Gavrilo Princip was balls deep into the predecessor to Japanese death metal.

Ironically, despite Japanese death metal's role in the triggering of WW 1, in August 1914, Japan sided with Britain.

Check out Japanese literature's multi-million Yen signing and local Tokyo boy Natsume Sōseki and his novels I Am a Cat (1905), Botchan (1906), Sanshirô (1908) and Kokoro (1914). These probably kept Japan from joining the Triple Alliance.
