It's "maths" Americans; stop being so rubbish at speaking our language.

It's annoying and embarrassing.

Much as I dislike American English, you have to tolerate it. Pointless to beat one's head against a brick wall.

Yes, and not mathmatic

What is a mathmatic? It's nothing, a point on the way to being mathmatics

What is a math? It's a lisp when trying to say "mass".

American English is really funny sometimes.

But there are sayings in Ireland and England that you should never say in the USA.

For instance over here people wanting a cigarette very badly might say,

oooohhh I could murder a fag right now.

In San Francisco you might get arrested for such a comment.

What is a mathmatic?

It's a fancy sports car with a very complicated
flappy paddle gearbox.

It's a 28 speed mathmatic.

0 to 60 in PI R squared.

Why the extra "s"? You guys and your extraneous letters...

When we abbreviate something, we just whack the end off. We don't go back and mash on an "s" for no reason.

Stop being so rubbish at your own language!

Pedantic and wrong.

There is no "a math". No need for an extra "s" to make it somehow "plural".

What is "math"? Same as "mathematics". Simple.

Abbreviations are made by whacking off the end of the word. Why do you save the "s" and add it back on? That's unnecessary and just looks and sounds foolish.

You're the one saying 'what is a mathematic?' No such thing, obviously, so mathematics is not a plural, despite ending in "s". Do you think every word ending in "s" is a plural of another word? What is "maths" a plural of then?

What about "economics"? Do you abbreviate this "econs"? Why the hell not? If you cram an "s" onto the end of "math", I don't see why you can't give "econ" the same treatment.

And you say English is "your" language. Might as well turn it over to a people who know how to speak it and write it. You can thank us later.

And it pisses you off, which is a nice side-benefit.
