They literally have someone else who has been saving their money use their money to pay someone else’s Hosp bill.. can you imagine? It would follow that someone else should pay my car repair bill too..

And the supplimental plans seem to me to be a scam too, like Medicare pays 80% for about 300 a month but the next 20% also costs 300 a month. Pound for pound, not a great deal, at the same rate it should be more like 50 dollars a month, am I right in assuming supplimental plans are making a killing?

? It’s easy. Citizens of this country for the benefit of having Healthcare on every corner, pay in certain amounts of money in taxes. The government with that money pays 80% of the bills of people who are qualified by this program, which is called Medicare.
Stay with me, I think I’ve lost you at this point. I’ll keep trying. We will pretend that you are just funning with me.
So, to create their own safety net, one of your favorite concepts, a safety net is a choice in this country to join, which is to buy supplemental insurance……. oh my gosh I know I’ve lost you now. It makes so much common sense you cannot get it……….
So anyway, the supplemental insurance programs pick up the rest of the amounts due to the hospitals. Some people decide they’re not going to get sick I guess and do not buy a supplemental insurance, that is their CHOICE!!!
I’ll stop here, you need not respond now that you see what the situation is. I recommend you run out and buy some settlement insurance. On second thought don’t bother the government now. Will take care of that 20%. We all want to know where that money will come from.

How do all these other countries pay for national health insurance? And at a cost about half per capita of what Americans pay for medical treatment?
