Most people don't want Biden or Trump as POTUS in 2024 and that is why that will be your choices.

That is how democracy works in the USA. Whoever you don't want you will get. That is how I know I live in a plutocracy. The corporate news media is guiding your choices. Most people didn't want Hillary Clinton either, so that is who you got to go against Trump, another unpopular candidate.
This is why I get annoyed when people start crying about how democracy is under threat from this or that. You cannot lose something you never had in the first place.

@metal-brain saidNot on subject, but I think there should be a triumvirate of 3 presidents. Think about it. I mean......one man decides fate!!?!?

IF the People really wanted a third party candidate, they'd vote for one - there are numerous candidates on the ballot in virtually all States. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_party_and_independent_candidates_for_the_2020_United_States_presidential_election

Most people will not vote for candidates they don't hear about on the news. Since they don't hear much about them that is reflected in the polls.
You know fully well that people tend to not vote for candidates with low poll numbers and it has nothing to do with their political positions. They feel they will waste their vote if they don't vote for a major political party candidate and corrupt people like Gavin Newsom will not allow ranked choice voting in CA. In 2016, then-Gov. Jerry Brown Jr. vetoed a RCV bill, saying the system is “overly complicated and confusing” and “deprives voters of genuinely informed choice.” The French must be confused without knowing it. Such a lame excuse for being a corrupt turd.

The bottom line is this: most voters in the US support either one of those parties or the other and vote that way.
@no1marauder saidRidiculous!

IF the People were as satisfied with the two big money parties' candidates as you say they are, Jill Stein would not have to be slandered with allegations of being a Russian asset and nonsense like that. They did the same thing with Tulsi Gabbard and she was running as a democrat, but the deep state didn't like the things she was saying.
People vote for who they hear about most on the news. That is why we get 2 unpopular major party candidates every election. The corporate news media gave them favorable news coverage which has a direct influence on poll numbers.
The corporate news media claims they will give candidates coverage when they get higher poll numbers knowing full well that good poll numbers are the result of generous news coverage, not the other way around.
The other way is money. We all know money can buy campaign ads to boost poll numbers and that is why unregulated capitalism leads to a plutocracy. If we live in a democracy why do super PACs still exist?
If you had watched the Jimmy Dore video you would know that the majority of Americans want a 3rd party candidate and don't want Biden or Trump. The people are dissatisfied and you seem to be in denial of it.

@earl-of-trumps saidThat is because the opposing candidates in the democrat party helped Biden win the nomination. Didn't you notice the primary candidates that were sucking votes from Biden dropped out right before Super Tuesday but not Warren because she was sucking votes from Sanders? Pete Buttigieg was later rewarded for it with the Sec. of Transportation position in the Biden administration.
Both parties do the same thing, they get a candidate that is somewhat acceptable to the opposition party.
That's why the Repubs don't like Trump (example), even though he may be the most popular Repub candidate.
So yeah, you don't really get what you want.
Silent Sanders said nothing and allowed the election rigging against him, but he is Biden's very good friend. He was in on it too. His job was to pretend to be a socialist to give the appearance of democracy. A socialist who was for a free market economy....what a laughable joke! He is no socialist. A real socialist would get slandered and ignored by the news media. Everybody knows wealthy capitalists hate socialism. It is a threat to their power.

Without the organization and financing of
one of the major parties the candidate is doomed.
@no1marauder saidAnd the reason for this is total brainwashing and stupidity. If a non-establishment candidate X appears to be gaining popularity, the corporate news media simply spews out a lie that 'candidate X only has 5% support and will be a wasted vote, so don't waste your precious vote on candidate X.'
That's a lame excuse; IF the People were as dissatisfied with the two big money parties' candidates as you say they are, they'd vote for somebody else.

And the stupid voters follow that advice and always end up with either a republican or democrat deep-state salesman, and the super rich get richer while the rest get poorer every time.
Perhaps stupid people deserve to get abused like chickens and hogs.
@jimm619 saidYes, and they are determined to keep it that way.
It's a 2 party system.

People are easier to control when they are divided into 2 factions. Dividing people into 3 factions would not be as effective. The whole system is rigged against a 3rd party. You can't get as much funding, can't get into the debates and that means you would have to struggle to get your poll numbers high enough for the news media to give you valuable attention to your candidacy.
The whole system is rigged. All you have to do is observe election history. They will even raise the poll numbers needed to stay in the primary debates to exclude certain candidates long after the first debate. Calling the USA a democracy is an insult to real democracies.
@metal-brain saidYour stupid conspiracy theories get more and more preposterous.

What happened to Jill Stein was hardly comparable to the media frenzy about something as insignificant as Hillary's e-mails. And Tulsi Gabbard was always a fringe candidate with little support.
I don't watch your Jimmy Dore videos and have no intention of wasting my time doing so. He's hardly original in making such claims but the bottom line is that the People in the US have a wide range of candidates to vote for.

@jimm619 said(Shrug) With the way campaigns can now be financed i.e. with direct contributions a click away on the internet it should be easier for third party candidates to raise money comparable to what the major parties can.

That they fail to shows that the People in the US really aren't terribly interested in third party candidates no matter what they say in generic polling well before the election.
