It seems to be the case that women talking about the dangers of womanhood forget something...

[quote]According to the data given by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, worldwide, 78.7% of homicide victims are men, and in 193 of the 202 listed countries or regions, men were more likely to be killed than women. In the UK specifically, men comprise 7 out of 10 murder victims.
That's what testosterone does for you.

This is true, men (statistically) are more likely to get murdered walking the streets at night.

But we're not just talking about murders. How do the men/women stats compare for rape or abuse? A woman should be able to get from point A to point B without fear for her safety.

It's a worrying trend.

At night I would happily go to the local shop to buy a bottle of milk with not a single concern in my head about my safety or fear of being sexually harassed. My wife would not feel safe doing the same. I'm sure this is not unique to the UK.

@Ghost-of-a-Duke - How do the men/women stats compare for rape or abuse?

The reality would surprise a lot of people. More men are raped than women in the US.

Are you sure about that? (Is this a prison-related statistic? )

My wife and I were on vaca in Mexico. She wanted to do the look-see in a wide open bazaar, middle of the day. Bright sun!
So I told her to go ahead, I'll be right here in this pub getting out of the sun. She showed up later on and told me
of the times she was harassed by strange men and was truly concerned.

Add Mexico to the list.

It was actually in Barcelona she had her worst experience and felt the least safe.
