Ghost lets Be accurate here: Do you think 1436 is close to my average rating? In fact you are saying it is lower than that!!! 😉

The aforementioned is my Profile page, do you think my average rating is correct??? Numbers don't always tell the truth, that is why it is so important for Clan Leaders to know the true ratings of ...[text shortened]... is feeling, age can also be a factor, just ask any of us that have hit the 70 age mark!!! 😉

Most of the work I have put in all these years was learning all the players and learning their ability/real ratings. That is where the real work is.

There are other things as well, but that is spot on Rusty. I don't think they understand that because they don't know the players as we do.

I've been doing this since our clan started and never let up. Their ratings do change year to year for many reasons. And I make sure I keep up with all of them including the new players. Work hard at it and good things will happen.

🙂

Then you really shouldn't have been playing Clan games, old friend. I would have put myself on Vacation if not feeling up to playing which would be the correct thing to do.

You insult me, by claiming you were on Meds, you never mentioned a word about being on meds while playing me. I do find it difficult to believe a word you say.

You wouldn't believe the Meds I am on and strong ones too, but I never blame it on my loosing games.

Mike as a clan leader doesn't even have to use his flag. He can "Deselect" himself and that makes it impossible for anyone to choose him for a clan game or challenge. He is invisible to everyone looking at his line up to pick players.

When Mike is ready to play, he takes himself off "Deselect" and back into active play again. All this with NO vacation days used. This is only for clan games however.

@Michael-Martin

Well isn't that a neat little trick, I knew he was underhanded, Clan Leader or not!!!

Actually it also means popularity contest. That's all. Our players don't have any idea it exists or how to use it. This goes for most clans. It's only a few people in here looking to start trouble instead of fixing anything.

So few people. Even russ liked the idea of a co captain. That would help a lot of teams. Most teams just want to play and don't care ...[text shortened]... other leaders know what is going on I think you will see that they feel like we do.

Great post.
@Michael Martin,
Obviously a few want to win something for doing next to nothing as they are trying to change the rules for 2026!!!

Agree No one puts in the amount of work you do, and obviously no wants to.

At least now you don't have to put the amount of time in you did back in the beginning just a matter of keeping up with everything and ratings changing, not because of sandbagging but for other reasons.

@Michael-Martin,
Again I must agree with you as this thread proves people would rather argue about it than come up with solid solutions. I personally told an old friend, either we could talk about it constructively or go the other way I didn't care which way he wanted to. He of course decided to go the other way, as it may help him out with his minions. That is not trying to fix a problem that is only making it worst, in my opinion.

Agreed. It's exactly how it seems.

Agreed all the way on this one to. They don't seem to want to be positive on anything just argue and tell a select few how bad things are and that they want things done their way. To much arguing coming from them.

Well, I was willing to discuss it constructively until they decided to make an issue about it and make it personal. Seems they can't have a disagreement without making it personal. They probably think it will deter me from saying anything but far from it as most should know me by now. If you want to get personal with me it is the wrong way to go about it.

completely the wrong way to go about it. If they approached peacefully instead of picking at you and just being rude every chance they get, they might actually get some where. But it's weird, it seems like they really can't help themselves and just want to argue and they will pick at the smallest of things just to be rude. And personal stuff? They should really know better.

Exactly, They should all know by now I never back down. When have you ever seen me back down? I don't mean just ignore someone but back down from a confrontation, which is only a war of words on here.

Agreed they started out nice, when I didn't agree then they figured if they got personal it would deter me from my stance on it. I figured they knew me better than that by now, I guess I was wrong. 😉

Also if it changes from personal to the actual topic at hand, you at least use facts, they give rude opinions that only benefit them. You talk about facts that help everyone. And they obviously don't know you!!!!

Anyway, ignoring all that, back to the purpose of the thread.

Any other suggestions on how the clan system can be improved for 2026?

The restrictions we have for setting upon challenges seem to be from a bygone era - we should look at lifting those in 2026.

The 200 rating points difference - clans leaders should be able to create any match-up they both like.

The active three challenge limit - clans leaders should be able to create any match-up they both like.

Not sure why you are still on about this.

As I know you can read - you know we are talking about 1200 games for the 2026 Cup.

As I know you can read - you know that is the number of games it looks like the current 2nd -5th place clans are going to play this year in 2025 anyway - so nothing changes there in terms of clan leader work-rate and games played.

The problem is not the amount of games and amount of work to get the Cup title.

If some players think having a second title to play for will ruin everything and the clan system will collapse and many clan leaders will leave in protest - that's fine. This is a discussion and we are all invited to share our views.

However saying "win something for doing next to nothing" feels a little disingenuous. We all can see it is not "next to nothing" - it is exactly what many clans are doing already.
