Those are a few recent examples of people beaten to death by mobs. Allowing a violent mob to reach members of Congress and their staff would have been a dereliction of duty by the officer.

It wasn't till Biden passed the chips bill that companies started building manufacturing here in the US like the multi billion dollar Intel project to do exactly that. I may remind you if China actually attacks and takes over Taiwan, our supply of chips could go to zero on any whim of the Chinese government so it in fact is vitally important for the US to have our own chips plants right here but I don't imagine you even bring that kind of thing up in your own mind, too focused on the border crisis.
